All of us here at All Day I Dream have been super excited about this release for months. Not only does it contain the gorgeous original mix from Maher Daniel and Jon Charnis that has been melting ladies hearts all summer long but we also have quite a superb remix. Luca Bacchetti's Endless label is one of our favorites here and it was only a matter of time until we knew we were going to (gently) prize something special from his musical soul.  

His remix has caused a little bit of a stir. We've been bombarded on a daily basis with requests for it. Well, for all you bombarders, it's finally here. Initially we only sent it out to a tiny handful of friends and family. Dixon and Ame both played it in Panorama Bar on  the same night, and it's been a staple track in Lee Burridge's sets all summer. It never sounded better than at Burning Man festival this year and those lucky enough to have been there will attest to the mystical journey it weaved as it meandered out of the Robot Heart bus's perfect sound system and across the playa. One of it's most memorable moments, so far, for sure. Now it's time for you to create your own magic with it. The hardest decision you'll have to make is deciding which mix to play. Dream on dreamers

Montreal’s Black Atlass is a voice you can't forget, charting new territory somewhere in-between modern R&B, experimental electronic production, and classic singer/songwriter confessionals.

His debut single "Paris" was praised by music obsessives ("soulful, electronic-tinged tracks that tug at the heartstrings" - Stereogum), and high-end fashionistas alike, earning praise in Vogue and scoring Louis Vuitton ads while garnering the personal attention of everyone from Woodkid (who enlisted Black Atlass to open dates on his European tour) to Dior Homme (who invited BA to their Paris Fashion Week presentations and styled him for the front row). 

Beyond these blog props and style bonafides, however, there's substance in his music that sets Black Atlass apart from his contemporaries. It pulses all throughout the new Young Bloods EP, six tracks that more than live up to their title with knotty chords, unexpectedly muscular beats, and the ethereal vocals that tie it all together. From “Blossom’s” handclap funk and the D'Angelo worthy boom bap of "Free Angel" to the primal howl of distorted closer "Jewels," Young Bloods is the latest chapter in the story of a raw and electrifying new talent.

Brenden LaBonte a.k.a. Forerunners has released a steady stream of immersive and unique tracks over the past 8 years, with remixes on various Solarstone labels. Something of an enigma as an artist, this Arizona based producer is definitely in the ‘quality over quantity’ camp. This EP contains 3 pieces of the finest progressive trance music that you’re likely to hear this year, where the focus is on the slow build, the journey, where filters ebb and flow, layers creep to the front then withdraw, where the percussion is hypnotic and the synths repetitive, and the melody draws the listener in with its subtlety, rather than a crass fanfare. It’s either early night material for big trance rooms, or peak time material for intelligent progressive floors – spun by DJ’s who know how to work a room. This is what progressive trance music is all about.

"I’ve always been sensitive to my surroundings and the world is in a very vulnerable place at the moment. I felt I needed to express my true emotions through something a little bit different to a conventional DJ mix and also that just writing one song was not going to be enough.

It was almost like composing a score, the only difference being that the pictures were only in my head. My ambition was for the music to evoke a visual response in the listener rather than just an emotional one. To do that I took some audio snippets of real life current affairs scenarios that really struck a chord in me and then used my DJ instinct to think of a track/musical piece that would fit well to that particular scene. Sometimes when I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted I added my own music over existing music or did my own sound design to create my own sound effects and also wrote some original pieces in the moment. It was very important to me to create ultimate flow and I felt this could only have been achieved without having any beats supporting the music. I also didn't want to make it eclectic nor constant as I felt that would disrupt the listener’s focus emotionally. There is a strong dynamic range throughout similar to classical music and also some parts that are almost meditative and then in contrast some more intense moments.

After two decades at the forefront of the dance music scene, Nick Bracegirdle AKA Chicane is preparing to release a long awaited retrospective, ‘Twenty’, set to drop on his own label Modena Records on July 29th.

CD One epitomises Nick’s passion and commitment to new music and dance talent. Crammed with remixes from some of the rising stars on the scene, the disc shows an entirely new side to Chicane. UK iTunes’ ‘Best Electronic Artist Of The Year’, Grum brings an euphoric remix of ‘Offshore’ to the table, full to the brim with dancing synths and deep basslines of what he acknowledges as “a universally acknowledged Ibiza classic.” His deep contemporary take on the track is dripping with his desire “to keep the timeless feel of the original club version, while bringing it into 2016 for DJ sets.” Meanwhile, the Earmilk-approved Thomas Datt offers up his own shimmering remix, the exhilarating crescendo of the track mixes the best of 90s trance with a 21st century minimalist twist. He explains that whilst creating his shimmering remix his “main focus was to get that classic Chicane pad just right to give it a whole new life; a more engulfing, epic feeling. Then came the guitar and piano…Once [he] got in Datt flow state, it more or less wrote itself.”
