Ever since day one 909 Festival has gone above and beyond to put together a well-balanced musical program. Playing a major part since the early beginnings have been three simple basics; celebrating the pioneers, inviting fresh quality artists and supporting the locals.

CLR Podcast 310 – Simo Lorenz

It is Monday the 2nd of February 2015 and we are coming to the end of our little series of local heroes and faithful supporters of the Techno scene, this time with Simo Lorenz from Stuttgart´s distinguished Lehmann club. Simo loves to play extended, passionate DJ-sets, not only in his residency at the Lehmann, but also in numerous renowned national and international clubs. His digital DJ setup allows for a maximum of real time creativity and in the studio he is a prolific producer of original tracks and remixes, some of which appeared on labels such as Wall Music, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, Drowne Records or Illegal Alien, just to name a few. He furthermore co-founded the booking agency Blakksheep at the end of 2014, with artists like Alex Bau, Sam Paganini, Sasha Carassi, Luis Flores, Johannes Heil, himself and many more in the roster. Simo is celebrating his 30th birthday on the 15th of February at the so-called “Dirty Thirty” event at the Lehmann. If you wonder, why it's getting really soft towards 5h30 and then harder again - TIMESHIFT! I thought that the set is ending but I could keep on playing for another hour as the clocks were shifted one hour back that night and I didn't notice ;) Took over at something around 123bpm after a great warmup set from Zhino

February's episode on the MindTrip Podcast welcomes Swedish techno icon Joel Mull. Joel is one of the main artists who pushed Stockholm's underground scene forward since the mid '90s. He is among the very few who believed that techno would be the music of tomorrow and he clearly proved that with his musical career over the last two decades releasing numerous albums and EPs with his percussive signature sound on labels like Harthouse, Truesoul, Parabel, Dystopian while showcasing his DJing skills at the biggest clubs all over the world. Today Joel is finishing his new album that will be soon released on the label A Strangely Isolated Place under his alias Damm. We are pleased to share his 2hour mix on episode 43 that takes us into diffrerent musical directions made of some powerful four to the floor cuts and hypnotic, driven sounds.
