Simón Jaramillo Vallejo is an audiovisual artist and DJ Selector from Bogotá, Colombia, currently living between Leipzig and Berlin. Simón studied art at the Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá from 2014 to 2016, without completing the degree. In 2020, they began studying Media Art at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig (HGB). Since 2022, Simón has been studying with Clemens von Wedemeyer and Mareike Bernien in the Expanded Cinema class. Through the exploration of new techniques and the fusion of analog and digital worlds, Simón seeks to create translations and reinterpretations of autobiographical fragments that address themes such as power structures, migration, and extractivism. Simón is in search of new narrative forms where viewers and the artwork interact to generate unique and immersive experiences. Their musical and sound research focuses on sounds from the Global South, both in their roots and in emerging new sounds.

They are the co-founder of Colectivo Calentura (Berlin) and Áspora (Leipzig), a member of the trio Necios, and also co-founder of the Latin American short film festival Rutas Etéreas.
