"I’ve been in San Francisco for the last 7 years, but originally from the surrounding Bay Area. Being Irish and Persian, the cultures were both heavily incorporated with dancing so it only makes sense that I found myself interested in dance music as an adult. I started djing about 5 years ago, but I feel only in the last year and a half have I started taking it more seriously. I hold a monthly residency on HydeFM, a sick community based radio station in the heart of our city. I feel so proud to be a part of HydeFm because of their unwavering commitment to give a platform to many artists here and far. On my show Siah Shekar, which means ‘black sugar’ in Farsi, I mostly play in the realm of house music. I love that Hyde gives me full reign to play whatever I want, so my shows could be anything from DnB, to Street soul & hip hop, or UKG and 2 step. I like to change things up a lot, but my baseline is 90s house and breaks.

Whenever I record a mix I try to just portray how I’m feeling. Im feeling pretty hopeful about the approaching summer and some relief from the heaviness covid has brought. So this mix is some something to make you feel just that. We will dance again very very very soon. I can feel it 🙃"

And I always wanted to ask Andrea if he could provide a mix for the bin. He knows all these timeless D&B jams ... I know Andrea as an all areas music aficionado with a strong background in D&B. His credo "Deep, soulful wonderful music is what moves me. Tempo is irrelevant, the energy is what really counts”.
