Dawie is a Cape Town based DJ. After discovering the local scene and falling in love with the psy-tech , psy-trance and dark minimal genres, he strives to give back to it through music. Interested in DJing from a young age, Dawie finally took the plunge in mid-2022. Now he aims to make a splash with groovy beats that play with the boundaries of psychedelic and progressive tempos. You can expect high energy, groovy tempos, filled with scintillating psychedelic sounds, grounded with dark undertones.

I create musical journeys with soul, and want them be heard by ears that resonate, hearts that feel and bodies that sense and move naturally and unselfconsciously. 
I feel fulfilled and joyous knowing people are grooving on the dance floor or enjoying the sonic experience on their couches at home. 

In my work as a psychotherapist and mindfulness teacher in the default world, creating and performing musical journeys has become like guiding a mindfulness practice: high frequency sounds, embodied movement, heart opening, inviting a deeper, purer,  connection to oneself and to others. 

 I love sounds rich in melodic nuance whether through instrumentals or voice, bass frequencies that create resonance deep within the body and have an organic, soulful quality. Whether mid, low or high energy, you will always hear and feel these qualities in my sets. 

Musicophilia (an enhanced appreciation of music) is actual a nervous system process, where we can bring immediate, non-verbal healing through dancing to sonic landscapes that engage multiple brain regions as will as the inner body. So this love that I experience as a DJ is a rich medium for healing through the universal pleasure that comes from immersion in sound.
