Considered one of the pioneers of the Nu Skool Breaks sound and an innovative person in trying out new sounds Adam Freeland had many a hit back in the day. Heading the very start of the breaks scene back in the late 1990's and playing the very most underground acts of that time Adam promoted the very early breaks music through DJing and the Breakbeat Show at Kiss FM as well as starting his own record label Marine Parade records. Never one to shy away from making white label bootleg records back then he went under various aliases, but you could always tell it was him from his particular style of music production.

This mix was recorded live back in 2004 at Roxy, Prague and contains basically all of his greatest hits, enjoy this 2hr 30min set.

Burning Man is an event focused on music, community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance held annually at Black Rock City in north western Nevada, The event derives its name from its culmination: the symbolic burning of a large wooden effigy, referred to as the Man, that occurs on the penultimate night of Burning Man, which is the Saturday evening before Labor Day.

This rare set from Adam Freeland was recorded LIVE at Burning Man back in 2003 and is a great selection of Nu Skool Breaks when Adam Freeland was in his prime as a DJ and artist.

The original files recorded levels were everywhere so i have fixed them up and mastered this mix as best i could.

A RE:CONSTRUCTED set is a *long* way removed from a standard DJ set. Here's how it works.

Simon takes hundreds of tracks from his huge library, painstakingly deconstructs them (using Ai if needed to separate elements from the original tracks), and then pieces everything back together to create a hugely emotive and immersive musical story.

He uses Ableton Live and multiple controllers to trigger up to 16 individual channels of audio at any one time during the performance, and also performs live keyboard overdubs. The end result is a hugely addictive, compulsive and compelling blend of music that's often new, often familiar but always utterly unique.

This is storytelling on a giant canvas, and in 2024 we will be adding visuals and further live instrumentation to these RE:CONSTRUCTED sets.

This set was first performed on January 1st 2024 in San Francisco at the Breakfast of Champions block party on the Space Cowboys main stage.
