When I'm feeling trapped inside my expensive cardboard box
And I'm feeling prisoner to my wild fears and thoughts
In a world so black and white and nothing in between
I need to immerse myself into a sea of green

Out the door and out on my own
Don't need no fax machines, pagers, or phone
Away from the nonsense and into what's good
I'll be out for awhile I'm going for a walk in the woods

When I'm feeling overwhelmed in a world so full of hurt
Hear the spirits calling me to return to the dirt
Where I feel like a child no matter what my age
Find the key to unlock this self imposed cage

It is a bit like having an answer without the question!  Creative curiosity is called for…

Simon Alami is a Canadian composer with a passion for blending different musical styles and traditions. He draws inspiration from master composers such as Ravel, Debussy, Bartok, Takemitsu, Stravinsky and others. Simon's compositional style is characterized by a fusion of diverse elements and a willingness to experiment with new forms of expression. Despite his job as a Manager at Hydro-Quebec, Simon dedicates his time to pursue his art and passion for classical music composition. He currently lives in Montreal, Canada and is a proud member of the Canadian League of Composers (CLC), Guilde des musiciens et musiciennes du Québec (GMMQ) and SOCAN.

Simon will be participating in the 5th edition of the Mostly Modern Festival at Saratoga Springs, NY June 2024
