Canadian DJ and producer Simon Doty shares his highly anticipated debut album ‘Universal Language’, out now on Anjunadeep.

The album release follows singles ‘Follow Me’, ‘Have You Ever?’ and ‘Soulflow’, which have collectively gained radio support from BBC Radio 1 presenters Pete Tong and Danny Howard, SiriusXM and KCRW as well as a host of tastemaking DJs including Gorgon City, Diplo, Nora En Pure and more.

Crafted for the dancefloor, Simon’s debut album ‘Universal Language’ gives the audience a taste of the range of musical styles that they can expect to hear Simon play during one of his DJ sets.

Robyn Sherwell).

Born in the heart of Germany’s Black Forest, Sandro B. was introduced to electronic music at an early age. Fascinated by vinyl and the craft of DJing, he quickly developed a deep passion for rhythm and sound. Through his older siblings and relatives, he discovered the worlds of house and techno – a discovery that sparked a lifelong love for electronic music’s driving energy and melodic depth.

As he grew older, Sandro began performing in clubs and festivals, exploring a wide spectrum of genres from techno and progressive house to dark techno. For a time, dark techno became his absolute focus, shaping his sound and energy behind the decks. Alongside DJing, he also stepped into production, releasing tracks on respected labels connected to artists like Marika Rossa and DJ Ogi.

Over time, Sandro’s creative vision expanded. He embraced melodic structures, vocals, and the power of hardware synthesizers, which continue to inspire his studio work today. His productions evolved into a unique blend of techno, progressive house, and melodic soundscapes, always driven by emotion and rhythm.

Influenced by iconic artists such as Eric Prydz, Cristoph, CamelPhat, and Simon Doty, Sandro crafts music that bridges raw underground energy with melodic finesse. His sound pays homage to the roots of electronic music while constantly pushing forward, staying true to both modern innovation and timeless influences.

Today, Sandro B. remains dedicated to delivering powerful DJ sets and productions – combining the warmth of hardware synthesis with the evolving spirit of house and techno.

Simon Doty’s origins from Canada’s Western wilderness to a college basketball shooting guard may seem like an unlikely path for the emergence of a finely tuned electronic artist. A self-taught gear master ‘whiz kid’ with a profound understanding of musical composition and engineering, Simon has earned the ear of his peers and heroes alike.

After years mastering his sound and ascending the ranks of the underground circuit, Doty’s breakthrough debut LP ‘Universal Language’ on Anjunadeep was released in 2023 and supported by a world tour featuring over 60 dates.  Marquee performances at electronic music’s top venues including Brooklyn Mirage, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, The Gorge Amphitheatre, Savaya Bali and Fabric London highlight a year of  live milestones for the Canadian talent.  The momentum continues with the inception of his new imprint Recess, remixes on choice labels, and a follow up album in the works.  

Characterized by gritty analog synthesis, evocative melodies, and powerful driving grooves; his signature sound has earned Simon a bonafide spot among the industry’s most respected producers.  An increasingly coveted remixer and engineer, Doty continues to showcase an elite command of his craft and a steadfast pursuit of progress.
