Early life and career
Cherie D’Avino was born in County Durham England. Her mother is English and her father is Italian.

Cherie grew up in Rome, Italy until she was 6 years old, then her family returned to the U.K and raised her in London. 
 
At the tender age of 16, Cherie was taken under the wing of Reggae artist Junior Delgado. Famed for his roots style, Cherie worked alongside him and his team, where he would co-write with her, nurturing her and helping her through her development. 
 
Cherie attended one of London's key performing arts academies W.A.C Arts (Belsize Park), alongside fellow students such as Ms. Dynamite, and Kevin Mark Trail from The Streets. She was also mentored by successful Jazz artists Angie Brown, Cleveland Watkiss, and Mary Pierce.
 
In 2002 Cherie performed at the 'Chariot of Fire' show (a tribute to the 9/11 tragedy) at London's Royal Albert Hall, directed by Chris Rea. This gave Cherie that extra fire in her belly to take the next big step as an independent artist.
 
2002 - 2004
In 2002, Cherie was called for a meeting with MBK Entertainment in New York, after they had heard her rendition of Frank Sinatra's 'New York, New York' which she then transformed and co-wrote with British singer/songwriter V.V Brown. 
 
It was in New York where she developed her Cross-Atlantic style, working with NYC's hard-core inner music circle. This enabled her to experience live mic sessions in various popular venues. Approached by manager Nick Guerrero (Nity Entertainment), she co-wrote with East Coast rapper M.E.R.G.E, infusing her sound of Blue-eyed Soul and Hip-Hop, and co-wrote (and features on) the 'Pottery Fragments' album and also on the animation Riff Ratz which was produced by Sean Penn. . 
 
Cherie returned to London in 2005 to lay the foundations for her career on home soil where she was active on the London music circuit having graced venues with her breathtaking 'unplugged' sets in clubs such as Cafe de Paris, Cobden Club (Westbourne Park), Neighbourhood club, Jazz After Dark, Ronnie Scotts, Turnmills and Hackney Empire (291 Variety Show). She was also the opening act for Jessie J at the Troubadour. 
 
 
Songwriting
With connections in London and New York, Cherie was approached in 2008 by Cherry Lane publishing to write for various artists on their roster and also began collaborating with British Composer and Music Producer Max Herman (who has worked with, Paloma Faith, The Saturdays, Eternal , and Music Producer, Simon Changer (known for his production work on 'Wonder Woman' (2017), 'Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation' (2015) and 'Batman Begins' (2005).
 
 
Touring
In 2010 Cherie toured in Europe, with artist Amerie as a backing vocalist, and performed at the Blueballs Festival in Lucern, Switzerland. 
 
 
After having taken a break from the music scene to raise her two young sons, Cherie has found her voice and is back in the studio working on a number of projects, writing and recording music.
