“Man hat ein Thema und schreibt dazu Geschichten. Das macht ein Album zu einem Album.” Simon Grohé hat klare Vorstellungen davon, was er in seiner Musik transportieren will. Auch sein Debütalbum “Mamaoerf” hat ein Thema – und erzählt ganz persönliche Geschichten: “Meine Mutter ist an Krebs gestorben, es ging wahnsinnig schnell. Das ist natürlich ein Schock gewesen, aber man kann sich eben auch gut in Songs damit auseinandersetzen. ‘Mamaoerf’ ist ein Tribute-Album an Mama.” Wer nun jedoch glaubt, dass “Mamaoerf” eine deprimierende musikalische Reise durch eine Moll-Landschaft aus Tod und Einsamkeit darstellt, der liegt falsch. Der sympathische Rapper-Songwriter aus Bonn hat diesen Schicksalsschlag vielmehr zum Anlass genommen, sich kleine und große Fragen bezüglich des menschlichen Miteinanders zu stellen. Und diese hat er zusammen mit seiner Band Soulions in ein Soundgewand gekleidet, das einerseits genügend Melancholie transportiert, um der nachdenklichen Grundstimmung gerecht zu werden, andererseits aber auch genug Platz lässt für den ansteckenden Optimismus eines 28-jährigen Vollblutkünstlers. “Ich wollte eben nicht wehleidig klingen. Das Album ist vielmehr voll mit Geschichten über Beziehungen zwischen Menschen. Es geht um Freundschaft, um Familie, um Liebe und eben auch Verlust.” Dabei ist eine musikalische Einordnung von Simon Grohés Schaffen gar nicht so einfach: Er rappt, er singt, er verarbeitet Einflüsse aus HipHop, Soul und Reggae – und umschifft dabei gekonnt jedes Klischee, das die genannten Genres mit sich bringen könnten. “Man kann nicht wirklich behaupten, dass ich ein HipHop-Künstler bin. Ich liebe HipHop und komme auch von da. Aber auch wenn ich rappe, sind meine Songs keine pure HipHop-Musik. Ich bin ja auch kein Rasta, weil ich Reggae-Elemente in meiner Musik habe”, lacht Simon. “Ich bin natürlich durch HipHop sozialisiert und ich mag auch Trap oder Dubstep, wenn ich im Club bin.
