As modern architects envisioned, the structure of an object should primarily be based upon its intended function. Therefore, Piet Kaempfer and Ralf Dietze, aka Protonica, the architects of this creation, decided that each brick, each curve and angle should be built with a lot of thought, love and devotion. Every piece of sound you will hear vibrating through your ear canals has been specially designed from scratch, and was tested under the highest levels of professionals. Thus, Form Follows Function is not like most albums which gets produced and released for the sake of being released, it is exactly the opposite intention – to deviate from the factory like music that surrounds us and craft a form that was thoroughly thought of before, while and after it was conceived.

Form Follows Function is divided into 9 different functions, which were modeled into 9 different forms that will suit its desired function. However, the function is flexible and dynamic, and enables each person that listens to the album to adjust his own prefixed functions and slide into a liquid amorphous ever changing entity. This album is the second masterpiece from Protonica, which comes 5 years after their debut album Search, which was released in 2007. Now it seems that the search for their own style is finished, and the time to dive deep and explore the next stages of their sound has come.

After 5 years of refining and crystalizing their sound, they preserved their old Acid influences, while combining new elements of Progressive and Psychedelic Trance. Dietze and Kaempfer followed the function of their name - Protonica - which means positive charge, and always had the dance floor in mind in order to tell hypnotizing stories which will enchant every person. The guys have collaborated with other superb artists such as Liquid Soul, aka Nicola Capobianco, on the track Floating Point, and another exquisite joint venture where they marked their point of view on Ace Ventura, aka Yoni Oshrat, and Rocky's, aka Roy Tilbor, track Serotonin Overdose.

Listening to Hendrix, Morrison and king crimson since he was born, he started to work with music in the 80..s being the mind behind the pure blood rock 'n' roll band "Primeira Pedra." His first contact with trance was in Amsterdam in 96, where his general concepts where flipped upside down. Returning to the capital of Brazil, Brasilia he started to pratice his first mixes on the vynils he brought back from the old continent. At the same time, he produced, directed and filmed various videos and was nominated five times for best rap music video @ the MTV-Brasil Vídeo Music Awards. By 99 he moves to São Paulo, where he was motivated to play due to the true rush of things, he sweated night and day to play in as many parties as he could get his hands on, until he was noticed by the Klatu crew at that time it was a most authentic temple and was headquaters to trance in São Paulo. At the end of that same year he was invited by Klatu to be their resident dj, after that he started being invited to the major gigs all over the nation. Keeping that buzz during the next year, he produced for the first time the new year..s eve party UNIVERSO PARALELLO in Alto paraiso. At that time, he got in touch with ANTARO, the headlabel of Spirit zone, few months later he was invitded to be part of the crew and became their representative in Brazil. The invitation extended for him to play at one of the oldest and most prestigious parties of the planet, the VooV experience in Germany on it..s 10th edition. Back home, his calender was full of invitations to play all over Brazil, soon becoming a permenant nomad, infusing music and concepts all over Brazil. On the turn over of the 2001/2002 new year, Universo Paralello, started to bring people over from all over the globe at least 20 different nationalities where present. In 2002, he was invited to play at Antaris festival in Germany, where his music took him to many other gigs that summer, such as Shivamoon and various times at the german night club OV silence in Hamburg. Back in Brazil, he put his connections and name towards a first time partnership which later on became the VAGALUME RECORDS label. By the next year activities at Vagalume were at full speed but still gigs were being played all over the country. Still in 2003, he joined Gusatvo Manfroni (Burn in noise) and Dj Zumbi to form the powerhouse act known as THE FIRST STONE, which nowadays is one of the most respected brazilian projects around. Also that year, Universo Paralello moved to bahia, which gave it a new face and later became a worldwide brand name that spearheads the festival moviment around the world. Next year he went on to play at the boom and again at the VooV. In 2005, The first stone released their first album with the same name under the Vagalume records label, which is still a big sucess around the world. The year after with the first stone, they played at fullmoon in Germany & Sonica in Italy. By 2007, swarup played at Fullmoon and Sonica again, but only presenting his impressive dj set. Keeping the rapid rate of things he launched his first compilation for vagalume records called Universo Paralello. This year, he shall be presenting himself at the Glade, Ozora and Boom, also this year the official launch of VAGALUME records digital.

Leon 'Avalon' is from London England, He started Djing in 2003 and began music production in 2006. His first album release was “Reality Check” as part of the Reality Grid duo with EVP in 2007 on Wildthings records. After this Leon decided to go solo and focus on his solo project Avalon, it was during this time he was signed up by Nano records where he released his debut solo album "Distant Futures' in 2010. The album was huge success worldwide and charted number one on beatport, with every track in the Top ten. Since then Avalon has released numerous other Ep's and compilation tracks on labels such as TIP world, Hommega, Spun, Neurobiotic, Alchemy, all charting top 10 with a few number ones on Beatport

After the album release Avalon has been touring non-stop globally, and has played over 30 countries in the last year at the most prestigious festivals such as Boom , Ozora, Tribe, Kaballah, Universo Paralello, Easter Island Eclipse, Burning man, Indigo, Synthetic dreams, Glade (U.k), as well as some of the most popular club nights across Europe, Israel, Japan, U.S.A and Australia.

In the studio Avalon has been remixed by, remixing and invited to work with some of the biggest names in the scene, including Astrix, Domestic, Pixel, Loud, Zen Mechanics, Captain Hook, Laughing Buddha, Cosmosis, Dickster, Burn in noise, Lucas, Xerox and Illumination, Waio, Symbolic, Headroom.

In 2011 Avalon teamed up with Tristan to form a new powerhouse project called Killerwatts. the two Nano heavyweight trance masters have just finished and released there debut Album 'Blow your mind' on Nano records and have already been causing explosions on dance floors worldwide. Shortly to follow this year is the Avalon Rmx album, and a 2nd solo project has just been formed by Avalon called Future Frequency. Which will be progressive trance, first track out with Zen Mechanics on Sourcecode records this year.
