Derrick Theme Remix

After a super long hiatus, Discobelle Records is back with a brand new string of releases to keep you up in 2014. Arriving this month, the High Steppin' EP from Austrian house-maestro, Dizzy Womack, is a slick little 4-tracker featuring three original cuts from Womack and remix duties from Look Like.

As the follow up release to his 2013 EP, Black Ice, on Top Billin', we find Dizzy in fine form with opening cut, "French Sin." A hypnotic groover with dancing, French-spoken-word vox peppered thru-out. Contrary to its name, "High Steppin'" gets deep, down and dirty with a booty-chakra rumbling bass and pitched down vocals. "She Goes Back" is the deepest of the bunch with stuttering vox and filtered pads, the accompanying remix from Look Like version amps up the more "garage-y" elements which lends the tune a more menacing vibe.

Third Rail (Remixes) reimagines the original EP with five tracks, ranging from laid-back downtempo to steady mid-tempo grooves. Whether you’re familiar with the original compositions or hearing them for the first time, you can still feel the original warmth created by Colour Your Mind’s use of acoustic instruments.

The remix of "To My Story" by Matija & Rich turns the atmospherical original mix into a pulsing dancefloor banger. With deep, driving beats pushing the rhythm forward, the remix captures an undeniable energy, while the emotional depth of the original still threads through, carrying a bittersweet tone.

 Simon Sampler, our newest 3Bridge signing, comes from Austria and his track 'Da Jiggle' gets a release on the label. Complete with catchy house stabs and rhythms, subwoofer shaking bass, and fun spoken word samples, it'll get people moving and bouncing, while bringing smiles to people's faces. There's a definite sense of humor in Simon's work here and it's refreshing to hear.

Eric's remix takes a little bit of a different approach but keeps all of the fun and quirkiness of the original intact. Touched with melodic flourishes that Eric is known for, while retaining a certain dirty danceable sound, it's a really nice compliment to Simon's original.

We're excited for the world to bounce with 'Da Jiggle'.

Simon Sampler - Da Jiggle (Eric's Shake And Bounce Mix)

Following his successful Collider EP last year on Yoshitoshi along with his remix of Luzon’s classic “Manila Sunrise", Khainz is back and this time with a bag full of gems. We're delighted to announce the Swiss wunderkind will be releasing his third artist album (and first since 2012), Fingerprint, on Yoshitoshi in June of 2019. From this upcoming album we have extracted the Reflect EP; a teaser that features three of the album tracks, each representing Khainz’s production range and studio wizardry. 

We kick things off with Next, a perfect intro track that sets the stage for the energy to come. The track begins with slow and heavenly synthesizers, teasing listeners for a while with fluttery melodies before dropping into one of Khainz’s signature, stomping grooves. Beautiful phrases continue throughout, making Next the kind of track that makes dancers close their eyes and feel every moment. Next comes Reflect (no pun intended), a tune you may have heard in an episode of Yoshitoshi Radio, as it’s been a staple of Sharam’s sets for months. It picks up right where Next leaves off, with a dark, impending vibe that develops into a huge melodic techno banger. A mysterious vocal hook appears throughout the track which is sure to get stuck in your head, as anyone who’s heard the track thus far is aware. Finally, it wouldn’t be a Khainz release without some hard-driving techno, and Reconnect delivers on that front. The tune is impeccably produced, each drum hit and bass sound carefully sculpted in Khainz’s sonic laboratory for maximum force. This one will find a happy home in the crates of DJ’s who need a secret weapon for peak moments.

If these three tunes are a preview of what’s to come on Fingerprint, then we’re truly in for something special (and, having had the privilege of hearing it, we can assure you that’s the case). Khainz continuously sets a high bar for both the quality and quantity of his productions, churning out amazing tracks like a machine.
