D Lydian Call and Response

This is an assignment for an Ear Training course. The purpose was to outline the Spectrum of Modes from Lydian to Phrygian with solfege. Backing drone track was provided by Berklee.

Mode Spectrum

This is an assignment for an ear training course I am taking with Berklee. It is an original composition of a rhythmic duet utilizing multiple rhythmic elements including 3:2 polyrhythms. The E7 drone was provided by SBL.

Polyrhythms Duet

This is an original exercise I put together for an ear training class as part of my final assignment. It is an exploration of the chromatic scale in both tonic and dominant chord-scale function. I usually perform exercises like this rubato with my double basses. One of the fundamental purposes of the exercises is to hear the interval against the drone.

The drum loop was created from the first 8 bars of  "Hip Hop Drum Loop - 80 BPM " by Drum Skin via Youtube. There is also a metronome click that I added.

Chromatic Study

This is a comparative study of chord progressions and scale paths in the Spectrum of Modes from Lydian to Phrygian. This is part of my final assignment for an ear training course I took in the first semester of 2025. I play the guitar, the bass, and sing the solfege. The drum loop was created from "Jazz Drum Metronome for ALL Instruments 115 BPM | Medium Slow Swing | Famous Jazz Standards " by InnerClock via YouTube.
