Description: This track started out with a sample of a saxophone melody. It is intended as a study. I first listened to the line, using solfege, to identify all the intervals. I then identified common jazz chords changes that would work under the melody. Finally, I went ahead and recorded my take of the sax line on guitar with accompaniment.

I wrote "Restoration of Hope" in February of 2023 after the pandemic had subsided. The first totally original piece since March 2020. I think the world is sadly in a much worse state now in 2023 and that is what i would like to change for the better. Hence the title of hope.

Before the pandemic i did mostly original compositions but that all dried up starting in 2020. So when life gives you lemons you make lemonade and I did a whole series of Trumpet/piano covers that were at the very least improvised and interpreted. You have likely heard some of them.

I hope you enjoy this as much as i did writing it after such a long creative drought. Thanks you for listening. Headphones or a good stereo is always recommended!

I into an 80's kick at the moment.  This is based on a short story idea where the man went blind only to discover his eyesight had all these years been dependent on a machine in his house.  After that, he had an issue trusting anyone around him since he didn't know who had turned off the machine in the first place.

Why Am I Here?

Story:

Romantic and sickly-sweet, that's it! What do I need to tell you more about a poor but well-behaved boy falling in love with the sheltered princess of the kingdom. An unimaginable relation? Probably! But the boy moves heaven and earth to get what he's striving for.


Music:

Yes, it's very cliché. A sweeping 3/4 time signature and broad string harmonies are the key ingredients of this track. A bright and positive motif in C major is established but soon followed by a much faster, playful part in 4/4.

This underscores a scene of the two protagonists frolicing around, running over meadows and playing hide-and-seek. The piece continues with a very soft and contemplative part, a variation of the theme.

It rises in dynamics in a transition with brass and woodwinds and turns with a key change into a grand horn melody with string and trombone accompaniment. Still, a bit of melancholism sustains, but it is soon flushed away by the whole orchestra including tubular bells.

Now, a very majestic and solemn vibe is present, enforced by a choir. At the end the track returns to a small and intimate sound with a final cadence.

We all want to play hide and seek.
But Mary always finds Nick too fast, ohh.

Tom is a liar, spins so many lies.
Lynn gets angry, is tired of his disguise.
Lars acts strong, but Nick and Lizz say no way.
The world is a game, but some don't wanna play.
He's angry and wants every one to obey.
But not all of us wanna follow what he says.

„Please let us be friends again. I really like you, my friend!
Could you too, like me the same?
Together we'll play very cool games“

The president tells his own stories.
He's the one who makes up what is true.
His minister obeys, always tells something new.
The world's his game, but some don't play.
He's upset now cause every one should obey.
But not all of us wanna follow what he says.

The president and his adviser can now no more get along,
spreading secrets and dirt, feeling very strong.
The president plays king, some don't wanna play.
The adviser admits he has gone too far, 
but most people now know where we are.
The president is angry: „All obey!“
But many are waiting eagerly for the day,
when the old king finally has gone away.
