A Nice Stairway

An Unbearable Sadness - fifth part of the reworked cinematic musical suite based on my original theatrical Cirque style show: Regalia - The Enchanted Forest, which was initially performed at the Bali Safari and Marine Park in 2011. The new ethnic infused World music score has been crafted around sophisticated and powerful hybrid orchestral compositions by my friends at IPI Music and Anthology Records.

These three video clips depict the opening scenes of the story as a prelude / backstory. It tells the tale of our heroes (two Final War survivors in a post-apocalyptic surrounding) on their strenuous and dangerous voyage to a magical place - Regalia - The Enchanted Forest.

Here's how the events unfold in my chapter, I hope you can hear the storyline back in the music because that is what I was aiming for :)


Two weeks have passed and even though it feels like the whole world has been destroyed around you, you have found happiness in that which is still atainable... and of course there's Stephanie. Things are great between you two. You have both found your place in the settlement and play your part each day. Your phone's dead and you feel cut off from the world. The start of the third week brings your thoughts back to Ralph. Did he make it? Did he save his wife or did he end up dead in a ditch... or worse... part of the walking dead. Not even an hour later, there are shouts coming from the gate. Newcomers it seems. You head over to the gate to see but before you are there, you see a familiar face. Ralph just passed through the gate, followed by two other men and a woman. The latter must be his wife, you think... you hope... You wave at him frantically but he doesn't seem to notice you, his face drawn. Something isn't right. Now men at lookout points start pointing toward the north and shouting at each other. You head for your house and run up to the attic, closely followed by Stephanie... "What is it?". When you look from the small attic window, you see a slow moving mass... a horde... of undead coming in your direction. You aim the old telescope, that sits next to the window and your heart sinks. It's a sea... no... an ocean of undead... You do not see the end of it. No matter what, we will have to escape...again!
