Asked to describe his music to a new listener one might falter. While it's true that there is a very specific sound at the core of his music, it is the fluid nature of Deetron's work that defines him as an artist. Yet there is one word that can be used to sum up this dynamic musical mind and the polymorphic sounds that he has mastered - Maverick.

His second album "Music Over Matter", which was released on Music Man end of last year, finds Deetron in a unique, transitional phase. The vocal element of his music coming to the fore, with his 2nd album he proves that there is no substitute for substance and skill, putting music firmly back in the frame is the message, and how poignant to today's tumultuous industry.

For the new single 'Love Song', Deetron calls on the vocal talents of oddball techno superstar Seth Troxler. Steve Bug brings his Traffic Signs alias back to life for the remix, and adds an instrumental version too. Without a doubt an irresistible package for any DJ.

The 'Need Somebody' EP comes with with three original tracks and a remix of the title cut and we've got the premiere of Borrowed Identity's rework. Trust us when we say this is a golden slice of bumping house. The German-Romanian​ producer is another artist who can change his style depending on vibe and mood and his remix is the stand-out on the record.

The piano chords are lifted from the original and introduced early on with fierce stabs, while smooth vocal cuts glide over the top. The kick drums are heavy and spread liberally throughout and the melodies, well they're just damn beautiful. We've had this one on repeat.

Ultraviolet is defined as radiation with wavelengths shorter than visible light. The main source of ultraviolet radiation on Earth is the Sun. 
So, in his second release, the New York label Samo Records, like a sun, sends to us a dose of Ultraviolet - product of collaboration from two wonderful producers and djs -  Australian born and NY based Ash Moses aka Tunnel Sings and Missy Livingston aka Moderna who currently resides in Los Angeles.
The EP includes two excellent compositions, among which, even if desired, it is difficult to single out an unequivocal winner: two very different tracks united by same mood. 
In addition to them Samo offers you remixes from the French virtuoso Markus Gibb, New York talent Willie Burns and an extra remix from the owner of the label - Facets, which is not included in the vinyl and will be attached to the release in digi format..
For today premiere i have picked up title track "Ultraviolet" because it looks like that radioactive ray - you can not touch it, but you still feel his destructive power. This is an absolute dancefloor killer, that blends a stick-in-your-head vocal with hard electro for radiantly retrofuturistic results.

Written between 2014 and 2018 in Berlin and on the road, Cocoon Crush once again sees the producer jettisoning the functional requirements of the dancefloor. Mexico’s leading underground label Duro Records is back with another brilliant EP, this time from Mijo, who serves up a fine original that comes with remixes by Paulor, D.Y.O.R., The Chica and Moisees.Mijo is a multi-instrumentalist with a raw sound that mixes up tech, disco, house and analogue synths. He releases on Her Majesty´s Ship, Sanfuentes Records and Correspondant and impresses with the refreshing ‘THXTASY’ here. It’s a perfectly warped, heavy tune with fleshy bass and trippy synths that are driven by punchy kicks. A big vocal will get hands in the air and the whole thing oozes late night menace.Fellow Mexican Paulor from the likes of the You and Your Hippie Friends label then excellently remixes the track into something brilliantly dark and cosmic. The drums hit hard and there is a real rock angst in the stabs. D.Y.O.R is a soulful, jacking and deep house proponent from the Netherlands who flips the track into something more elastic and house in nature, but with acid lines and chattery, Chicago-esque percussion.Next The Chica steps up with two terrific versions. The first is a slamming techno cut with whirring machines and flat, forceful drums and the second is a fist pumping, turbo charged old school house version with raves stabs. Both will do real damage on the ‘floor.Last but not least is Duro co-founder Moisees, the man behind last year’s superb ‘Train Station Philosophy’ release. His vision of ‘THXTASY’ is one of corrugated funk, macho disco grooves and stuff hits that make you jerk your body.

Torpor is that feeling of excitement when you look across the dancefloor at your mate and he pulls that gurning face at you and you pull it straight back no one knows what it means but it doesn't really matter, that last bit is probably not true but it is every bit the feeling which this track inspires. 
Having released recently on Timothy Clerkin's new label Insult to Injury, Dark Circles go next level on their own label with remixes from Jackie House, the mighty Vin Sol and a killer cut from Scott Fraser.
A monstrosity that needs to be put back in the box or a muscular piece of body music which needs absolute airing, I suspect the latter is true, but either way this track is unstoppable. It's about time that this one was let loose on the unsuspecting world.
