Dear friends and listeners, this is definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but after almost 1900 followers and over 15000 listens that I could never foresee when I first appeared here with https://soundcloud.com/copyc4t/speed-limit because of a Freesound Dare (a composition challenge on http://www.freesound.org ) history comes to a full circle.
("The Day After" update: make them over 1900 and over 16000, thank you all!)

This track happened because of another Freesound Dare (http://www.freesound.org/forum/dare-the-community/35370/) and it's a sort of soundscape based on more or less random radio recordings from this site: http://websdr.ewi.utwente.nl:8901/

Sad and awful as it is, I've tried to convey the sense of oppression we get from all the ongoing events against peace all around the world.

So, what happens when people who never met or spoke before decide to do a music collab online? --- I guess you can call it a "sonic handshake".

This is the collab made by Seelensack and me. We had never met or communicated before. I picked Seelensack because I used one of his sounds from Freesound before in one of my music pieces. I liked that sound a lot and when I read his profile at Soundcloud, I thought he might be a good partner for a collab. And he was!

Strictly, we did not follow the Dare rules exactly. We did exchange short messages along with the wav files.

Stefan is one of the founders of KLANGEXTASE – also a podcast - with more than 5 million listeners. The project began as Stefan and friends started to stream live mixes on the Internet and turned into one of the most influential platforms for electronic music !

When I first started out making music it seemed that everything I attempted sounded like Depeche Mode and I tried my best to escape this by testing out other genres. Every now and then though its fun to bounce back and make something that is authentic to the sound they created. Knowing that our copyc4t (Paolo D'Emilio) got a craze for them as well, it was a natural choice to ask if he would be up for the task to make an original for a change. Not sure how he managed with it but he took the lyrics I wrote and tweaked them to create a really nice fit.
So here it is "Poisoned Words", a song about lost love and big regrets...hope ya feel it :).
Big thanks to Paolo for his great vocal recordings and a true pleasure finally making a track with him!!!
