I had to have an operation on my left hand, which has meant I haven't been able to play guitar for a couple of months now. 

Anyway, it's on the mend although I still don't have much feeling in my little finger and the side of my hand, but it's getting better, so my guitar is coming home, not fast enough, but my baby's coming home.

Cyclical Reflection

This is the first track I've created after wrapping up my new album “aes.thet.ics”. There is always uncertainty as to what I want to work on after releasing a collection of material. (or if I need a break)It's a combination of relief/fulfillment, mixed with self imposed pressure as to needing to come up with ideas for future work.

Going back to minimal piano remains a comforting direction. For me it's always a rewarding emotional release.

An original song about, well, The Forest.  We drive by them almost every day and seldom stop to admire their beauty and think about the importance they play to the well being of our beloved planet.

The forest reverberates           with sights and    sounds.
Sheltered by the trees,           wildlife           abounds.
Such immense beauty,              hiding in plain    sight.
So very few,                      ever venture       inside.
Majestic, alive and thriving,     yet so easily      ravaged.

No door to enter by, no door to exit from.
Once inside you feel, tranquility taking hold.
Anointing you to the spiritual and the material.
Daring you to let go and dream in peaceful solitude.

The forest reverberates           with sights and    sounds.
Sheltered by the trees,           wildlife           abounds.
Such immense beauty,              hiding in plain    sight.
So very few,                      ever venture       inside.
Majestic, alive and thriving,     yet so easily      ravaged.

Perhaps a bit indifferent, when you first arrived,
Now in awe of it’s diversity, and its abundance of life.
From the outside we give it, but an indifferent glance.
On the inside we immerse in the sights, sounds and smells.

The forest reverberates           with sights and    sounds.
Sheltered by the trees,           wildlife           abounds.
Such immense beauty,              hiding in plain    sight.
So very few,                      ever venture       inside.
Majestic, alive and thriving,     yet so easily      ravaged.

Staring up at the sky, to see those towering pines.
Reminds us of our minute place, among living beings.
Afraid and delighted, loneliness and enlightenment
In debt to the forest, for stimulating our minds.

The forest reverberates           with sights and    sounds.
Sheltered by the trees,           wildlife           abounds.
Such immense beauty,              hiding in plain    sight.
So very few,                      ever venture       inside.
Majestic, alive and thriving,     yet so easily      ravaged.

Sustainer of life, comforter of souls.
In-stiller of wisdom, evoker of feelings.
A world within a world, where life seems to stand still
A sanctuary of sorts, to experience and protect.

when we were young I thought those days would never end
I use to spin you ‘round the floor, your legs could bend
we’d sit and talk until the dj was leaving
he’d say move forth but we were drunk on this feeling
we lost each other to our lives long time ago
an unfulfilled, entangled fate was never known
I’d call you up but I get weak in the finger
A burning question in my heart ever linger

time carries on at it’s tempo
we’re only given a window
fools never heed
what they’re taught about time

I lived through things I hope my kids will never know
my mind’s ideals were sacrificed for higher goals
when things looked dark and fearful thoughts crept inside me
