Our first release called Gather EP comes from the multidisciplinary Australian producer & composer Chrysalis who musically reflects his hability to make complex productions look simple, with a bundle of tracks filled with experimentation and personality. Lion’s Drums full length exists as an exploration in multiple dimensions. First by challenging the notion of the album format by presenting a body of work that lies snuggly between remixes, edits and original works and secondly as a means to delve into the transcendent potential of the drum. 

Textures hovering above in the Manos Tsangaris’ collaboration “Crying Tafel” and his re-imagining of Tullio De Piscopo’s unhinged drum excursion “Fastness”. The closing exemplifies the edit/remix/original ethos proposed for this work with Lions Drums drawing from tapes and original material of electronic pioneers Suzanne Ciani and Roberto Musci. Drawing from unreleased music and song sketches by the original artists as well as field recordings from travels & studio sessions made by Roberto Musci & Manos Tsangaris in the 80's and early 90’s he constructs a side winding journey through playful textures and ethereal moods.

Yet Another Kito Jempere Album was finished two months before the pandemic hit, and released right at the peak of it in November 2020. Due to COVID19 restrictions was never played live, although a big AV show was planned and put into production. This album is a long journey of meeting friends along the way of Kito Jempere and making them stand together for one simple idea: get together for music. Album was never aimed at any charts or hype, it was just a bunch of demos, which later transformed into fully fledged compositions and then laid out into a long-play sequence. 

Yet Another Kito Jempere Album is both a spontaneous and easy-going free-time friendly project and a real Kito Jempere’s own universe combining artists as Jimi Tenor, Mujuice, Lipelis, Rich Thair of Red Snapper, Cedric Gasaida, Hard Ton, Ruf Dug and many others. The variety of the album got wider with lots of amazing remixes from Kito’s friends: Max Essa, Andras, Fango, Eden Burns and many more. But every journey comes to and end. In 2022 Kito wanted to finish the story with huge DELUXE collection of 36 tracks including album originals, released remixes and previously unreleased remixes and versions by Samo DJ, Hard Ton, Longhair, Linja and Fanick. Original cover image by Dmitry Shiryaev also was transformed into painting by Netflix/Apple illustrator Joe Taylor. 

Yet once again the world had gone crazy, Kito couldn’t believe his eyes in the end of February. It was a tough decision not to stop, not to give up. Music is the only answer. Art is the only future. We need to find peace within ourselves, spread it around us, and start all over again. The final chapter of Yet Another Kito Jempere Album’s story is here. We all need to redefine ourselves. The darkest hour always comes before the dawn. Only we can make the future happen.

The cult flies ever closer to the sun with sonic assistance from NICOLA CRUZ, MOSCOMAN, XANGA, and Malka Tuti members 84PC.

One of the key emerging artists out of South America in recent years, Nicola Cruz is fresh off his debut album on ZZK and primed to take off with his folklorically dope live set. ‘Pagano’ might be his most dance-floor friendly track to date, sounding like it came straight out of Compass Point studios carrying the smell of good ganja.

Next up is Disco Halal’s MOSCOMAN, kicking it in a latino style for a change, flexing his skills into different lingual terrain, masterfully mixing things up in his inimitably unconventional style.

Aussie favela-funklord Xanga is back with MC Sheikh Djibouti, with a blunted piece of snake charmed spacey hip hop. Dope.

Finally, Tel Aviv’s 84PC, a trio comprised of Malka Tuti’s Katzi Kenneth, Asaf Samuel and Naduve, deliver a beautiful piece of sun-kissed guitar prog downtempo. Mellow, melting, mental, magic mushroom music.

Nicola Cruz - Pagano

Kapote loves the funk. And he loves Blaxploitation movies. The black underground cinema from the 70's. Kapote samples dirty talk from these movies and puts it on his bass lines. Melodic basslines with a heavy 1070 funk vibe. Bass lines that can create a sexual tension. Kapote adds a few warm, jazzy rhodes piano chords and a lot of reverbs and filtering. And the music rolls. Often more like a jam then like a constructed piece of music. In the highest points this music is pure endorphin. It's 4 to the floor - but it has a soulful analogue sound. Kapote says he was listening to records from old Detroit label Red Planet and Parisian downtempo pioneers Motorbass and La Funk Mob while making this record. And yes, the vibe is there. Like these guys Kapote likes to build his musical trips around snippets from old funk vinyl. Adding beats with vintage drum machines and creating an eclectic trip into a universe full of jazzy bits, noisy drums and dirty samples.

Adiós Morena is the first single off of Afro-Pacific super group, Rio Mira's forthcoming album, Marimba del Pacifico. Composed by Esteban Copete, the single also features remixes by Nicola Cruz, Kaleema & Chancha Via Circuito, Midnight Ravers and M. RUX. 

In 2015, UNESCO added the marimba to its Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, observing that "Marimba music and traditional chants and dances are musical expressions integral to the family and community fabric of people of African descent in the Colombian South Pacific region and Esmeraldas Province of Ecuador." 

In celebration of this cultural heritage, and with a main goal of creating an intergenerational meeting between the sounds of Afro music from the Pacific, Rio Mira was founded. The project has a fundamental mission of revitalizing and strengthening bonds between the members of the Afro community from each side of the Colombia-Ecuador border. 

Rio Mira is co-produced by Ivis Flies (Co-Director and Creator of the musical and social heritage recovery Project "De Taitas y Mamas", nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2013. "Smile Ambassador" in 2010) and Ivan Benavides (Producer of Carlos Vives, Sidestepper, Chocquibtown, Grammy Winner Gaiteros de San Jacinto) and features a number of well known Cali and Esmeraldeña artists including Esteban Copete and Karla Kanora. Rio Mira's first album, Rio Mira - Marimba del Pacifico, will be released in 2017 on AYA Records.

Years of sweating in garage bands evidently prepared the Lipsky brothers to break boundaries in commercial club culture with a sound that somehow evokes the essence of psych-rock while never sounding out of place alongside certified technoid bangers.

Their musical breadth as producers speaks to their talent as DJs, with a deep passion for record digging that again conveys very specific sensibilities – a love for the exotic, the yearning for transcendence, as well as the rough rebellious energy of punk. They produce dance music from the margins, full of with narrative, melody, and drama. It’s intense, in a good way.* 

Their affiliations to broad-spectrum labels like Multi Culti, Disco Halal and Correspondant might paint some picture of their range, and their stellar remixes for artists like Nicola Cruz, Adam Port, Autarkic and Polo & Pan may have earned them lots of plays,  but their debut LP ‘Sorry, We Did Something Wrong’ is undoubtedly their most ambitious and elaborate statement to date. Drenched in their influences, rich in collabs with a range of artists like Sepultura’s Igor Cavalera and C.A.R., the record is at once ambitious and, as the title suggests, apologetic. Their capacity for embracing these polarities, a radical boldness tempered by self-consciousness, it may divide the audience, but it shows unmistakable personality.

Simple Symmetry returnes to Multi Culti with an epic, mournful EP called “Problem,” featuring a huge remix by long-time compatriots Red Axes. Another huge edit for CULTED is on deck, as well as a peak-time rework of Drugface, following up on their massive mix of ‘In the Clouds.’
