VIVACITY Music brings another musical delight for fans of electronic music and nostalgic hits as well. This time, an edition of remixes is being released for the single "Pražský haus" (Prague House) by the band Hipodrom Jindřicha Parmy, which was originally released in 1989. Historically, this song is considered to be the very first Czechoslovakian single in the dance genre house music.

The release brings four unique remixes by renowned music producers - Bidlo, Cubik, Da Moon, and SciFiPsi. Each of the remixes has its distinctive character and style, ensuring an unparalleled listening experience. At the same time, they respect the original version while creating a new, fresh, and modern form that will be loved not only by fans of 80s and 90s music but also by a new generation of listeners.

Exclusive: Brent - S.O.M.

London-based event-series Gradient launches its label and kicks off the new era with a four-tracker from Brent, which goes by the name of Digital Karma. The Liverpudlian therefore delivers four club-ready tracks weaving himself skillfully through various electronic music sub-genres and styles. 

The EP opens with the title track, a homage to 80s synth-sounds which are combined with an Edith Piaf cameo generating a flamboyant French vibe and guaranteeing the EP an exquisite start. 

Up next is the most housey take on the EP, namely Don’t Call The Dr. The lush 4/4 bassline in addition to the robotic vocals as well as the inclusion of rolling triplets in the track’s lows and the overall rather minimalistic approach turn the track to a magic bullet for the floors.

The B-side starts with Liquid Gold, probably the slower and more melodic version of the A2. Liquid Gold comes in with super sweet sung vocals, a lower BPM as the previous tracks and spaced out elements in reference to the EPs title Digital Karma, as latter always strikes back and here it hits audience hard.

Ultimately there’s (S.O.M.) or the most techy track of the EP. With a stamping yet groovey bassline, its vocoder-led ode to Liverpool and a memorable chord-sequence (S.O.M.) offers another musical facet of Brent, who manages to take his listeners all the way through different (sub)genres yet remains true to his style.

When it comes to featuring high-quality South American/Latino underground electronic music, the super cool Montevideo-based U’re Guay Records fails to disappoint. Every single release in their vast catalogue presents a true showcase of the hermanos' talent in combining sharp production skills with a buttload of creativity.

For its forthcoming Volume, the Uruguayan outlet opens its doors to Bernardo Campos, a Rio De Janeiro-based artist highly established in the carioca nightlife scene, who brought to the party two made-for-the-dance-floor cuts and invited Manuel Sahagun and Imanol, the label boss himself, for the remix duties.

The track we chose to premiere is a beautiful tribute to Botafogo, a breathtaking beachfront neighbourhood in Rio. According to Wikipedia, the word Botafogo also refers to a Latin American ballroom dance move, named so because it originated in the area. Manuel Sahagun's RawMix brings the original to a dirtier and more acid realm, filled with synth distortions and stabs topping the bouncing and frolic bassline.
