As if ‘Ocarina’ couldn’t get any better, today Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike announce the vocal version of their huge international smash, with none other than UK chantreuse Katy B on vocals.

Katy, who won the 2012 NME ‘Dancefloor Anthem’ Award for ‘Broken Record’ and has released a raft of hits from chart-topping album ‘One A Mission’, is widely known for collaborating with EDM producers including Magnetic Man, Geeneus and Zinc. Now she lends her distinctive voice to ‘Ocarina’, taking one of Dimitri & Mike’s most popular tracks to a whole new level.

The track, which was a co-production with Smash The House protégés Wolfpack and was the inaugural TomorrowWorld Anthem, topping the Beatport Top 100, has been a massive fan favourite since it featured on the 2012 Tomorrowland After Movie soundtrack. With the original edit shooting straight to the #1 position in a matter of days, it now remains to be seen if having Katy B on the vocal mix will give the brothers the massive cross-over mainstream hit that seems increasingly on the cards. Sometime during this summers festival season, the Bombs Away brothers found themselves locked inside a studio with Sydney’s most notorious party boy, Tenzin! Between Tequila shots and bottles of Vodka, the lads found the physical co-ordination to get in the studio and began laying down ideas.

Several days later, after the headaches and blurry vision subsided, the boys revisited the session and realised between the three of them, they had created something special. Equal parts bass, bounce and swagger, Mother Truckers is the perfect soundtrack for punters bold enough to keep up with the boys on a night out. Much like the morning after it’s inception, Mother Truckers is light on vocals, but heavy with heaving bass, synths and quirky percussion.

Transition Festival 2024 :: Open Trance Experience

Simulation Hypothesis is one of the projects by this versatile musician, especially focused on the psychedelic and experimental areas which still highly underestimated by most people. His work is constant in order to be a step ahead in experimentation without limiting himself to any rule.

Going into his world , you will find his own eclectic style in which a wide range of musical influences from different types of electronic music converge. These beats go from techno to trance, from minimal to dark. It isn´t short of melodic atmospheres, sometimes warm as  in a day on the countryside, and other times dark as from a big city.

This project has its own style, not easy to define, but always fresh and original. A hypnotic energy hides behind the apparent simplicity of his vibes.

Simulation Hypothesis always works with a do-it-yourself philosophy in mind. All sounds are recorded or synthesized  by himself. Acoustic kicks and snares are recorded and loaded in machines in order to be the heart of the rhythm in most of cuts.

His original samples come from analogic synthesizers for the bases, although also are virtuals for higher lines. Roland Juno, Nord Lead or Access Virus are some of the comercial synthesizers that you can hear in his works, as well as some homemade ones that he also uses in his live shows.

Obviously this philosophy of work does not let you work with banks of samples nor with other people´s samples as raw material. The vocal parts are not an exception. They are recorded in his studio. 

As an overall picture, a refined psychedelia can be distinguished; always deep and mental.
