A month since the release of 'Regarde Le Monde Br​û​ler' Vol​.​2', Paris-based imprint Intervision gear up to release 'Mirage' from Tbilisi-based producer Saphileaum...Our pick is the opening track ‘Equator‘. Providing rainforest echoes for the occasion, Saphileaum delivers a subtropical piece of downtempo starting with high-spirited soundscapes backed by space-echoed flutes, before leading to a highly-arranged storm of percussions.

Swiftly after the release of his Jensen & Friends LP, Jensen Interceptor returns with his first solo release in over three years. 'Thermiac Rise' is a fast-paced, peak-time explosion of rhythm and grooves that traverses juke, breaks, tribal, deconstructed club, and experimental techno. The EP is named after the Thermiac Gulf in Greece, where part of Jensen's family hails from, and the inspiration goes deeper than just the title. Jensen has delved into the sounds, both ancient and modern, of his motherland. Whether sampling sounds from some of his favourite Thessaloniki-based drill artists or incorporating live recordings of the Lyra and Pandura, he has woven these elements into the architectural fabric of all four tracks, along with all the humour, charm & typical Jensen hallmarks we would come to expect from the one man Berlin based club banger machine.

When Rotterdam based, UK born DJ/producer Birds (real name Katie Wilkinson) began putting together the tracks for her debut album, she realised that there was an ongoing theme to the vocal lines; they all were related to either being at, leaving or returning to some form of ‘home’, most likely because she made the move from The UK to The Netherlands less than 6 months before and was still going through the traumatising visa process. This led her to think about the philosophical question of what exactly is home. The album explores these themes.

“Home can be so many things….it can be a permanent, it can be temporary, it can be the feeling of surrendering to bad habits, it can be that familiar spot on a dance floor, your favourite seat in a bar, the people you surround yourself with, feeling a sense of freedom, your family base…the possibilities are endless. Genre-wise, the album is a deep dive into Birds’ Bass, Breaks and Electro-inspired influences with the occasional signature fuzzy guitar hook reminiscent of her earlier dark-wave/EBM material peppered in...

Ransom Note Records are hyped to welcome the mighty Bleaching Agent to fold for his debut EP with us, Widowbait. The Leeds based producer has been a stalwart of the UK scene for some time, notably as resident at Manchester’s seminal Body Horror night, so we are over the moon the have snared his newest offerings for you. Bleaching Agent’s inaugural release on R$N is a deep down and dirty excursion into the murky depths of the UK underground. Have a hot shower on stand by because things are about to get mucky!

Cahoots chugs into view with a low slung bass providing some much needed sleaze atop the relentlessly driving beat, setting the scene perfectly for what is to come. The surge of filth continues to build, as distorted riffs and droning vocals reach peak propulsion and we’re catapulted headlong into the discotheque!

Bleaching Agent is set to perform at the Golden Lion in Todmorden on June 29th.

PREMIERE: Bleaching Agent - Cahoots [Ransom Note Records]

The worlds collided in this room, the glitz and the glamour of the upper echelons were paired with the riff raff who made the city what it was beneath the surface. They all danced together, a blurry chaotic mess of flailing limbs and hyper bodies.

This is what this space was supposed to be, a place in which all things were available to all people.

As the music rumbled on and on, people came and went having found what they were looking for beneath the concrete abyss up above.

This was the escape room.

Void Complet is remixed on a killer package which features edits and versions from the likes of Kassian, Slow Assembly and The Northworks amongst others. LDLDN delivers a belter of a cut, an acid version for the freaks.

"STRN" is a superbly powerful electro composition that combines a catchy vocal with enticing synths. Golden Virgo, Italian producer and

‘Final Destiny’ clocks in at 158 BPM, making it the fastest song on the record; it’s a track based on Amen Breaks/Drum n Bass but those distinctive dark textures remain in tact.
The whole record is a journey in itself, traversing bass driven genres across the way.

Blending acid-strewn Electro with twisted Wave and vocal allure, as the title suggests, the track is a dark mysterious exploration of desire and temptation, imbued with feelings of anxiety and danger throughout, instigated by a dance-inducing foundation of obsessively resonant scattered snare beats along with the mechanical shakings of humming low ends, pierced by desolate, shivering icy synths and neurotic squelchy acid lines, through a gripping build-up layering of hot and cold, fast and slow, also heavy and thin frequencies, interpolated twice with calm bewitching female spoken words swathed in reverb, inviting others to join in the “Devil’s Dance” using magnetic persuasion.

Rotterdam via London based producer and Feed The Void label head Birds returns to her own label with a brand new EP ‘Space Transmissions From A Cruel World’, a bass heavy ode to the sad state of Planet Earth.

Opener ‘Wicked Games’ is as sub filled builder; the distorted acid line contrasting to the lower frequencies and cutting through strong on a layer of vocal samples and Birds’ own vocal.

‘Save Humanity. Forget Authority’ is a breakbeat number with a kick that packs a punch. The track’s message is clear: the world is in crisis and humanitarianism is coming second to authoritarianism and greed.

‘Brug Open, Motor Af’ is an homage to The Netherlands and the Zuid-Holland West Coast sound that brought her here. One of the samples you hear is the monotonous drone of the Rotterdam’s Mathenessebrug opening whilst the vocal is suitably vocoder heavy. This contrasts to the chopped up Drill vocal sample that works as base for the track and adds a melancholic and serious feel to it. Beat wise, it’s as Electro as it gets with her signature 303 making an appearance mid way through the track.

‘It’s A Long Way To Go (To Escape The Human Race)’ is an Amen Breaks track whilst the simple 3 note lead line gives it a mild 80s pop-esque feel, contrasting greatly to to the sub-y Drum n Bass style bass line. This track is an immediate snap shot into the multiple genres that inspire the artist.

‘Shake Things Up’ builds and drops through sonic layering, the way a shoe-gaze track might but is still essentially a Bass music track that lyrically questions life’s unspoken rules and expectations.

‘Space Transmissions From A Cruel World’ is probably Birds’ most musically ambitious record yet and one that fully incorporates her sonic pallet and the wild journey you might find yourself on during one of her DJ sets, whilst also acting as a social commentary. It has a unique-ness that’s often missing within the dance music industry.
