When someone wakes up in this condition, they can never tell how long they have been going for; the night? the weekend? the whole week? is this just a perpetual state? It's hard to even know whether to talk in the first, second, or even third person, such as the depth of blankness in the soul... Such as the Depth of Haze. 
Optimo affiliate and Night of the Jaguar honcho Mr TC makes a splash on Hard Fist for their first release of 2019 and Khidja has managed to get his hands on the stems starting the year with a bang!
Gay Haze boasts heady live bass and flute are the elements which Khidja have brought out of the awesome original which punctuate the eastern vibe which slowly builds as the faint hiss of vocal haunts the back channels. As the track builds so does the hiss and the echo and the menace and the sense of dread and urgency. 
Andrei Rusu and Florentin Tudor have had an exceptional 2018 as has Thomas Lea Clarke, and this is the dream start to the next year... no time to reflect, no time to make resolutions. Here we go again!

PREMIERE | MR TC - Gay Haze (Khidja Remix) [Hard Fist] 2018

2020 is being a rough year for everyone but here in Calypso we believe that music is a way out for many people during this moments, so we decided to go ahead with our schedule of releases. For that we are very happy to welcome SHMLSS to our family cult, DJ duo from the Netherlands running "XXX the label". First up on "The Long Haul" EP is the title track that sets the mood with a smooth growing tension melted to perfection with the bass and the hypnotic synths. Moving on we have "Taiko Dreams" that immediately hits you hard with a strong bassline and mental arpeggios that grow into a trancey journey ideal for a sweaty night. With "Bunker" we are already now in the mental trip the duo wanted to take us, again with hypnotic arpeggios and dreamy pads that grow into an interstellar Sci-Fi chase. Finally, to close this mental trip, we invited another duo for remix duties, Club Tularosa. They've put out some bombs last year and this time they took "Taiko Dreams" and gave it a treatment for big clubs and festivals making it an epic journey that explodes into a dance frenzy.

Italian producer, DJ wizard ; Franz Scala has a knack for 80's fueled releases awash with modern sensibilities, his Italian-centric but Berlin based label Slow Motion, weaving proto-house and Italo wave together for Italian-born producers, while Wrong Era is for international artists. Slow Motion & Bordello A Parigi with the support of Sameheads are joining forces to release Scala’s euphoric debut Album “Mondo Della Notte”, which translates to ‘World Of The Night’. 

The LP leads into gorgeous synths and psychedelic-disco dips are brought forward with infectious enthusiasm on the 8-track double vinyl, with each track sitting around the 7-minute mark so as to make room for all of Scala’s retro nods. The title track is a bountiful disco wave marathon; blending heavenly vocal snippets and infectious synth lines in a bold Euro-romance dream. ‘Gladio’ is a hypnotizing affair with a firm nod to Detriot, weaving between the hard-hitting Free Style cut “Museum of Illusion” and the jam-packed Chicago-house track “‘Dreamline”. 

Scala’s rework of ‘One Way Love’ infusing trippy new beat vocals with a steady proto-house step, whereas “Stelle” is strictly Paradise Garage with ethereal sound design and catchy synth design. Built like an encapsulating treasure trove of Scala’s Italo influences, the record is flawless for the dance floor or driving on an Italian highway.

El lanzamiento en vinilo limitado fue posible gracias al sello holandés 339 Records y saldrá como un maxi single que incluye solo No FTR Original y Franz Scala's Remix.

Sobre el EP:

No FTR es la abreviatura de No Future: Daniel Monaco quiere representar un viaje a un lugar oscuro, tal vez perdido en el espacio, tal vez condenado a un universo paralelo, las, baterías a veces se mezclan con sonidos metálicos y melodías que sugieren sentimientos de esperanza y desesperación, todo ello secuenciando los bajos de sintetizador que se entrelazan con líneas de bajo interpretadas en vivo, tratando de crear ritmos de rodadura embarrados pero nítidos. Se hizo una exageración intencional en el arreglo para recordar la plenitud en el sonido típico de algunas pistas italianas de la vieja escuela que le gustan a Daniel Monaco.

El EP es un concepto de Dark Italo que contiene 3 originales y 3 remixes de artistas como James Rod el imparable Boss label de Golden Soul Records, la artista coreana Shubostar propietario de Uju Records conocido por su Cosmic Touch y por último el jefe de Slow Motion Franz Scala pionero de la nueva ola italiana, un verdadero creador e Italo Master, aporta su toque mágico para hacer de este lanzamiento un esencial de 2020.
