Returning to the Ransom Note Records offshoot, Insult To Injury boss Timothy Clerkin presents four prime cuts of rave meatiness for our ravenous consumption. Showing off his chops, Timothy’s distinctive Acid sound collides head on with Jungle and Breakbeat elements, put through the mincer to form an EP of epic dance floor destroyers.
Our choice here felt to Tour de Trance which takes the tempo down a notch, whilst revving up the Hands-In-The-Air-O-Meter! Big, analogue synths build throughout, sweeping us up and taking us to a place of pure ecstasy by the end.

This track is an unprejudiced collage where reggaeton, beatbox, Cuban son and Arabic melodies are mixed, with strong attention to vocal arrangements.

Sung and written by Gwen, it’s a result of a meditation on the duality the human being experiences. Being able to perceive itself as a god, a creator of what surrounds it as well as a tiny fraction of the universe. It’s nothing and everything at once. Although dark, playful, and humorous elements appear. The traverse flute at the end is an unexpected collaboration with the musician and composer Emanuel Nallin (ESP) .

It does not pretend to belong to any genre and could be said that it is family related to the song “Soft Boy II”,  the 8th track of her second album “Eudemónica” (2016). This single includes 2 remixes from Aleito and Fernanda Arrau.

Gwen Moore is an Argentinian vocalist, DJ, and producer a.k.a " Corporal Moore" based in Spain. She was part of the underground techno scene in Buenos Aires, after releasing 2 albums and 2 EPs in the electronic pop genre. Explores hypnotic basses, cold and disciplined beats, and vocals from different planes. Although her sets are focused on techno, indie dance; vocal techno, her productions eclectic due to her search as a singer.

Creator of the party “+SUAVE” in Cocoliche (ARG)  with Kinda in 2019 and its Resident, she participated in parties such as LOCA, FAGOT Party, Entrenar la Fiesta by O.R.G.I.E, DURX by Tebas, in BURNING MAN (USA) 2018 and 2019 Wrongtown Camp and Savage Kingdom Artcar AND ERUPCIONES.

As a producer, she has worked with Vedette (ARG), NEM (ARG / ITA)

The acid-laced ‘Powerful Woman’ EP celebrates DASCO's femininity, and acts as a reminder for people the world over to “stay confident, focused and remember that everything is possible and to never give up”. “We shouldn't let anything distract us from our goals and ambitions. continues DASCO, “Remember; we are much stronger than we think!”.

The EP showcases the more ‘techno’ side of DASCO’s arsenal with some panache. Indeed, ‘Powerful Woman’ is nothing if not suitably named: relentless and full of vigour, it draws on the producer’s own experiences; with a core message that acts like a rallying call to females, transgender, bigender and non-binary individuals in electronic music. “Some people won’t take you seriously because of your gender”, says DASCO. “They think you’re not talented and that you’ve nothing to offer - aside from the pictures on your social media. ‘Powerful Woman’ is a reminder that this is most definitely not the case!” 

‘Acid Queen’ follows a similar musical mood, but this time the producer imbues it with a keen dose of fun courtesy of her own spoken-word vocal contribution. Catchy and trippy, this is infectious electronic music that moves with an unavoidable swagger. 

On the flip come two killer remixes, the first of which arrives Johannes Volk, who turns in a deep and uplifting interpretation of ‘Powerful Woman’. Laced with emotion throughout, this one brings it all the way back to the ‘90s, with its emotive core proving a nice counterbalance to what’s arrived previously. Closing out the record is Sean Hernandez under his Chicago Skyway alias. A long-time favourite of in-the-know collectors, his remix of the title track holds onto the essence of the original but showcases its own euphoric soundscapes throughout. 
 
A quality-laden affair, DASCO’s latest showcases the producer at her best: uncompromising, captivating, political - and as always, pointed firmly in the direction of the dancefloor.

For the third time this month the place was had been ransacked. There was shattered glass everywhere, the curtains had been slashed to pieces, and clothes lay strewn across the floor. It was almost as chaotic as the thoughts that clouded his mind; maybe he'd brought this mess on himself? Perhaps his actions had sealed his fate and he'd simply have to deal with the consequences? Again. He knew the aftermath would be catastrophic but he prayed this would be the last time he'd be punished...

Under his given name Mexican producer Alex Aguayo has made a name for himself through his dark, synth-driven electronics which have formed releases on the likes of Paradiso Records, Fucanglong Files, Night Noise and more. His other alias Mahkina is more focused on trance-tinged sounds, moving between slow burners, progressive goodness and straight-up euphoria. So far he's released EPs on for Haunted Space and U're Guay, and now he's hopping across the pond to Barcelona via Argentina imprint Diffuse Reality for his debut long player which brings together all those flavours in one.

He was quite the contortionist, moving and meandering his way through the crowded room. Thank heavens nobody might be able to see his face amidst the smoke and darkness for they might get the fright of their life at the prospect of his wide eyed gaze and wobbling jaw. 

Things were getting tingly now, he could feel it all over. 

Over there in the corner would be nice, some place out of sight where he would be left to his own devices with little but for the drowning sound of drums and the occasional wobble of the weight beneath. 

This was it, this was what he was after. A good full body gurn, a total eclipse of the senses and chance to wipe the slate clean..

Man Power is your wonderful down to earth DJ. None of that pretentious rubbish, just stick him in a dark room with some loud music and you are good to go. His next release on Nocturne relishes in such sensibilities, a no holds bar dancefloor banger for the troops who like to move.
