Balearic sounds and Mediterraneanwarmth are the inspirations for Bruno Belissimo’s Bordello A Parigi debut. Drawing on disco, house and funk, Ottimo! is a four tracker of electronic exuberance with Belissimo’s musical ability and range immediately spilling from the speakers. Guitar strings curve around synthlines in the title piece, percussive textures giving way to the mantra-like refrain of “Ottimo!” Thick bass echoes into beaming keys for “Meduse.” Bright notes cascade, grooves  melting with vocoder lyrics as classic disco tones are reimagined in this modern mirrorball medley. Organic rhythms introduce the flip. “Mirage” opens to ripples of bongos and toms as a loose structure takes hold. Hedonistic chants rise to a shimmering chord, kicks and snares funnelling the building energy as bold blasts and samples shriek with delight. “Las Piramides de Ibiza” brings the quartet to a close. Clean drum patterns support joyous notes, a machine dipped voice calling time.

If you caught Sean Johnston’s recent ALFOS compilation, you’ll already know the name Bal5000, whose stunning track ‘Bleu Infini’ left a lasting impression. Bal5000 has also released on esteemed labels such as Dirt Crew Recordings and Emotional Especial.

We’re now thrilled to announce his latest release, The Lake — a shimmering new cut that dives even deeper into his genre hopping sound. Alongside the title track are ‘Untitled Acid’ and ‘Untitled Electro’. As their names suggest, they explore acid and electro-infused vibes, all within the ever-evolving Citizens Of Vice sonic ethos.

On remix duties, our long-term collaborator — and one of our absolute favourites — Pete Herbert (Music For Swimming Pools) delivers not one but two stellar reworks, each infused with his unmistakable style.

PREMIERE - Bruno Belissimo - Mirage (Bordello A Parigi)

Flash Atkins has pulled together a crack team of musicians for Sanza Mibale Ya Bo Pemi. It is a tribute to the golden age of afro disco, when the sounds of 70s New York found their way to the continent and fused with local musical styles and rhythms.

Felix Ngindu sings in his native Lingala language from DRC over a locked bass, congas, keys, percussion, rhythm guitar and a brass section from Haggis Horn's Atholl Ransome and Malcolm Strachan. Funk, disco, soul and jazz all blend for a a peak time jam.

The Flash Dub strips things back to the rhythm section for heads down, dubby action and a tracky take that still packs a dance floor punch.

The incomparable Bosq steps up for remix duties and knocks it out the park. Layered drums and percussion give things a more latin swing before the beats break, piano enters the fray and it's a tropical funk party starter all the way.

The dub does the beat thing, rocking a hard groove for the dancers. Hands in the air? F**ck yeah!

PREMIERE - Harrington - move it, move forward (Boots & Legs)

One of contemporary boogie’s biggest grails finds its way back to Star Creature in a full cir-cle moment much larger than 7” in diameter. MIA made her debut for Mango Hill records with 2020’s heart-shaped Valentine’s debut “Something ‘ Bout Your Love”. Shortly after, the label put out a call for producers focusing on the boogie sound at the same time Toronto’s Gil Masuda was previewing some demos looking for vocalists. Star Creature’s Tim Zawada linked the two via IG and an anthem was born.

“Love Me Right” is back in print and properly situated on the A Side delivering that bedroom meets dancefloor tough but tender gangster groove grail sound. The B-Side let’s the freakier flag fly with “Creatures Of The Night” on the prowl. Channeling the lo-fi energy of an undis-covered grail, this basement boogie is ready for the main floor, prime time fierceness served raw.

Sinchi Collective is a multifaceted music platform. Including a label, event promoter, mix/edit series and blog (which showcases our favourite soon to be released music). 

The label launched in January 2019 and has featured a combination of singles and compilation releases with artists such as Sascha Funke, Curses, TAPAN, Damon Jee, Biesmans, Khidja, Anatolian Weapons, and Tolouse Low Trax, to name a few and its objective is to promote positive social change and raise funds for our Sinchi Foundation, which supports Indigenous forest guardians in the Brazilian Amazon.
