With Moments Between, Amsterdam-based producer Pillek invites you into the quiet pulse that lives between days, seasons, and emotions — those fleeting fragments of time that slip past before you can name them. It’s the follow-up to his 2024 debut Birth, and a bold step forward: warmer, poppier, and more intricate, yet unmistakably Pillek.

Across ten tracks, Moments Between feels like a single, flowing breath — from the radiant simplicity of Grateful Vibes and the cinematic escapism of Holiday, to the tender pulse of Two Souls Apart and Happy Days. The record drifts effortlessly between chillout, electro-pop, and trip-hop, merging acoustic warmth with digital finesse.

Every song captures a snapshot of presence: Spring Is Here beams with sunlight after months of grey; Drift Mode lets you float without direction; Private Groove slips into jazzy nocturnal cool; and Summer’s Calling shimmers with tropical ease. More of an adventure than a song, ‘Je Palpite’ spends its stately nine minutes roaming without restriction. Electro in texture, free in spirit, the worming bassline, harmonic percussion and sudden twists are held together by the provocative Français purrs of experimental, industrial-minded artist @ANGSTvorGRETA. Seductive, sultry and unpredictable; it’s another strike for the artist who’s on a battle to fight binary dance music.

Fresh from his collaboration with Curses on Dischi Autunno earlier this year, Robert Johnson’s Chinaski (@southofmouth) adds a little spiky, electroid attitude.

John Parsley makes his first appearance on Playground Records to mark an Ep that kicks the board and leaves a musical riot of unusual dimensions. 3 originals and 2 remixes from Bird Of Paradise and Local Suicide & Time To Sleep giving a roam without letup.
Bird of Paradise is the first guest to make a remix and gives us a different version of ‘Coin Crash’, although equally club bomb, he offers us a completely different soundscape. Supported by the bass of the original they take us on a journey of crossed chord keyboards but totally harmonic in their dissonances. A ping pong of a constant acid modulation that opens and closes towards the sides makes us move our heads without respite. Tasty sweet and sour.
