Alex Niggemann’s forward thinking label Aeon recently celebrated five years at the forefront of cutting edge music.
To k​ick off 2019, Kincaid makes his debut on the label: the EP is the first in a string of exceptional music to come this year.

The four track EP kicks off in style with ​On The Back Of A Serpent​. An Italo-tinged number with Kincaid's trademark live sounding drum programming. It’s an instant club rocker with trippy vocal snippets that draw the listener into an ethereal, spine tingling breakdown. ​Stare Into My Monstera begins with a driving groove and dissonant Rhodes, building subtly but relentlessly towards a euphoric Nord lead motif which reappears throughout. A track that will undoubtedly find favour with the discerning Burner crowd. ​Papoose starts with middle eastern influenced sounds and insistent Timpani accents, before locking into a groove which hypnotises and intrigues in equal measure. Finally ​It Said (feat. Sinàl) is a darker affair featuring the sinister vocals of both Kincaid and Sinàl themselves. A ‘lights off / strobe on’ growler, this is one for fans of late night trippy moments - and further displays the diverse number of styles which Kincaid is becoming well known for.

Kincaid may be a fresh face to many but those in the know will be familiar with his unique brand of diverse and genre bending sounds. Breaking through in 2018, notable highlights include a debut release on Moscoman’s Disco Halal and an EP on Sabo’s Sol Selectas plus a plethora of support from titans of the scene; Rampa and &Me, Jennifer Cardini, The Juan MacLean, Roman Flügel, all the way to Dixon and Âme, who opened their Innervisions show at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall with his remix of Blancmange’s ​What’s The Time​.

‘Numero 01’ sets the scene as high levels of interstellar drama persist in all directions from a whole troupe of new friends; Damon Jee’s evocative cinematic ‘Ride Alone’ instantly sucks us into the narrative and it’s followed by a whole chain of singular chapters; EDE’s spellbinding choral fusion ‘Ensemble’, Jenia Tarsol & Jinga’s endlessly rising sci-fi funk odyssey ‘Hold Your Pony’, Joris Biesmans’ cathedral like progression session ‘Helene’ and the genuinely grand finale ‘Jupiter Express’. The dinner had been a formal affair, filled with the highest aristocracy and an overwhelming sense of privilege. She pretended to be one of them, but it was all a facade, fuelled by fierce hatred. However, things would all change this evening. She had a plan. It had taken a lot of time and patience but finally everything had come together. Tonight would be the night of reckoning. 

Berlin-based duo Local Suicide team up with Curses for the newest release on Tusk Wax. On our pick, new wave meets Italo laced with signature low strung guitar and wistful vocals. A great collaboration that we hope to see more of in future.

We are adding to this release a remix of Vox Low of "Black Lake" from My broken frame, track that came out only on digital on Gimme Shelter. ‘Hiraeth’ is the second single release of Sid Le Rock’s upcoming album on hafendisko, foreshadowing the dance-floor oriented brilliance of indie electronica he presents on Scenic Route.

Sid Le Rock resides in Berlin right now, but grew up under the maple trees of Northern Ontario, Canada, where he began to amaze the world as a prolific producer, DJ and live performer. My Favourite Robot, Kompakt, Mute Records and hafendisko are only a few big time labels
on which he has released on. Likewise, he continuously releases music on his own imprint - Beachcoma. 

‘Hiraeth’ is drawing attention on how Sid Le Rock authentically represents his underground-credebility.

The track plays with the sonic charm of a broken down arpeggio which evolves throughout the etherealsynth pads and scapes. It has a great vibe, that goes deep and fits into the sunset moods of a late
summer festival as likely as it heats the dance-floor during a club night.

French producer Damon Jee (Correspondant, Sinopat, Rotten City) breaks down the original to its initial elements, creating a monster of a remix that goes under the skin. What has been light-headed and moody before, now becomes a tool for an absolute club-banger that is
going to leave its marks!

The artwork has been created by Alex Solman, “the man behind the distinctive drawings for the Golden Pudel and one of the best visual artists working in music today” (Resident Advisor)

Sid Le Rock - Hiraeth (Damon Jee Remix)

@Controlla – a platform from Mexico on which both national and international artists, primarily musicians and audio-visual performers, present their craft. Controlla has hosted performances and media from such artists as Ali X x Ximena (Turbo/Azari & III), Fausto (Nein/Roam) Concret (Toy Tonics/Tropico) ,Palomo (Hi Land), Tkuz (La Dame Noir), Kitschy Kitsch (Maleante Recs), among others.

For their recent release, they have invited three prominent artists: Alvee(@alveemx), Disconnected(@disconnected_music) &Kitschy Kitsch (@kitschykitschhh) with remix responsibilities taken by Balam, Tkuz, Inclan and the infamous MAN 2.0. We are happy to premiere the indigenous vocal-driven “Magia Negra” Balam’s (@balamok interpretation of the original, where the Argentinian takes us on a percussion-driven journey to the lands yet to be discovered.

Sinchi is a not for profit label that donates all proceeds to our own foundation, supporting the preservation of indigenous culture. After two successful EP's in 2019, our third offering is a various artists compilation that shows off the broad array of sounds from 
around the world.

The fourth track is from @BraulioRenteria who offers up ‘Venus’, a moody, heavyweight cut with punky attitude and cosmic keys which make for a real trip.

Gunce Aci is a DJ and Producer hailing from Istanbul. She is also a part of the SaveAS Music Management team and music/booking director of Achprojektevent series.

Since 2014 she has been frequently spinning at many of the top clubs and venues in Istanbul such as Studio, Suma Beach, Gizli Bahce, Kloster, MAMA and more.

She is inspired by Indie Dance, Nu Disco, New wave, Letfield and Idm.
The soundscape she had created through her ‘Dreamers vs Believers’ EP on Esthetique is shaped by dark-mysterious pads, sturdy basslines and captivating melodies.

As usual the label brings in some high quality remixes in the shape of Up Pa Gaz, long time Sinchi friend Leonor and Tulioxi. The latter delivering a fantastic rework of the title track.

Back with a B side, Komodo (@komodo-jkt) aptly names the track “Slow burning” with blissful countermelodies that intertwine with arpeggiated synths, sludgy 303’s and propulsive drums that create a hypnotic timbre. This dance floor absurdity is taken from Komodo’s upcoming release “Running Into The Sun” for “Not an animal” records (@notananimalrecords) which was born from the party debris left uncleaned from London’s infamous Bad Passion parties, originally ran by Chris Stoker and Andy Bainbridge.

Our pick from this release is Latrec’s interpretation of “Slow burning” adding their intrusive Techno remix with a sub-bass driveline that completes this quintessential release.

Aziz Hadad aka Skatman (@skatman-official) is a Tunisian born, Berlin-based producer and head of the “Scatcity” label imprint. His forthcoming release is a sampler EP taken from Skatman’s essential upcoming studio album, released digitally on the same day under “Connected" (@robstereo) label.

As Skatman, his sound has evolved into an ongoing homage to his particular experience between his current home and his younger years in North Africa. 80’s synth pop, four to the floor house, techno and cinematic scores have all played into forming his melodic electronic sound.

We are happy to premiere “Moments”, a mini-epic with poignant chords bringing emotive vibes while glowing chords add soul to this futuristic deep house gem. This excellent EP, on the whole, is just a hint at what to expect from the full LP, which explores even more musical angles and influences.

There’s no holding back with this killer remix of Komodo’s 'Running To The Sun' by Eric Duncan. Within the first thirty seconds the drums are already rolling in like a build up to an epic John Bonham of Led Zeppelin fame drum solo. And this is key to this remix, the live drum pattern by Rafi Muhammad add an almost infectious groove to an already relentless jacking bass line. Creating a worthy support for stuttering, swirling arpeggios, fluttering acid lines and effects as they pierce through the smoke of a sweating, throbbing dance floor. And if this is still not enough, in come the wonderfully nagging old skool house chords, breaking up the intensity of this rollercoaster of a peak time track, providing a glowing warmth whilst giving off the sentimental feeling of piano laden house music of yesteryear. Fairmonts Brothers Keeper EP (BEDDIGI123) was a beacon of creative originality and his eagerly awaited follow-up Scropulus EP unveils another immaculate 3-track electronic collection. The blossoming relationship between Bedrock and Jake Fairley aka Fairmont, the Toronto-based electronic music producer, live performer and DJ, whose inimitable grasp of contrast, dynamic and groove marks him out as a true originator, is exciting in the extreme.

Frozen In Glass immediately bends the ear with its hypnotising looped hooks and intriguing vocal snippets, as it travels away on a steadily pulsating groove dynamic, atmospheric electronic mastery at its finest, with hints of psychedelia to top thing off. Detroit native turned Berghain resident Ryan Elliot debuts on his brand new imprint Faith Beat with his appropriately named EP 'The Introduction' - set to drop on July 19.

"Now it's time for me to have my own label/baby," says Elliot. "To release the music I want to whether it be from other artists I know and respect, or to give an opportunity to rising artists. I feel a strong need to do my own thing and to contribute now. And in a lot of ways, I feel like it’s a new chapter for me as an artist. Me becoming more of a producer and now a label owner, not just a DJ."

Ahead of the release, Elliot has handed over the EP cut 'Climb The Ladder' - a perceptive, scrupulous and profoundly mechanical banger that held together by ironclad drum work that turns the tune into a club tool of the highest order.

Aptly setting the scene with some dance-floor absurdity, Komodo comes Running into The Sun for NAAR 015.

Perfectly obtaining the dance-floor ambiance, 'Running into The Sun' produces the visceral beat that gets the party started, with quintessential house stabs channeling the tracks inner balearic heat. Next on the A, Eric Duncan's remix of 'Running into The Sun' funnels the original's heavier elements and pours them into a rattling house shaker. 

On side B, the steady pace of 'Slow Burning' swiftly evaporates with blissful counter melodies that intertwine with arpeggiated synths, sludgy 303s and propulsive drums that create a hypnotic timbre. 'Between Shadows' explores the balearic-beat once more, with opposing guitar melodies vibrating as the soundtrack to this drive-time burnout. Finally, new kids on the block, Latrec add their intrusive Techno remix of 'Slow Burning' to complete the release.
