Having already impressed via a slew of releases for Correspondant, Live At Robert Johnson and his own Biologic Records, DC Salas tees up an impressive release for Futureboogie.  ‘The Weight Of Uncertainty’ EP illustrates the suave sounds that the Brussels born producer has become noted for, and comes backed with a remix from the supremely talented and always on-point I:Cube.

In its original mix, ‘The Weight Of Uncertainty’ dips into a smorgasbord of sound, as touches of Belgian New Beat slide on up against balearic disco tropes for a spectacular body & soul workout.  The legendary French disco architect and Versatile Records mainstay, I:Cube, floats in on a little fluffy cloud for a terrific ambient dance version, fuelled by the kind of IDM brain scrambling sounds once present in the DNA of producers like Carl Craig, B12, Black Dog and Autechre.

On his two other originals, DC Salas gets raw and grungy on ‘Gliding Sound’, its distorted edge adding to the drama composed by the heavy hitting synth lines and the gnarly percussive pattern, whilst ‘They Don’t See It’ introduces some dark acid elements to the chugging rhythm and steely hi-hats anchoring the tracks off-kilter melodies.

VERSIONES es su nuevo concepto EP. Tomaron dos ideas básicas; Torino y El Ente, y con los mismos elementos cada uno de los artistas hizo su propia versión individual de cada idea.

Alejandro Veneno entrega dos versiones con un gran uso de los silencios, la atmósfera, la composición y el diseño sonoro.

Cabizbajo presenta a de manera descarada el ambiente de club de las pistas. Mantiene la vibra occidental de las ideas principales y crea dos versiones hipnóticas pero muy pegadizas de las pistas, al tiempo que les da una melodía fresca a cada una.

We are proud to present the nineteenth instalment of our Disco Suicide mix series by UK-based Stevie R (@stevie-r) & Parisinos (@Parisinos)!

Stavros Potamitis (aka Stevie R) conjures emotion and weaves sonic tales by combining the rebetiko folk music of his Greek homeland with analogue electronics. Working with a range of collaborators he offers forward thinking, avant-garde music and daring, theatrical live performances that freely blend and cross over between musical styles. As well as being a musician, producer and performer, Stevie is a lecturer at Point Blank Music College in London, runs his own record label Inside Out Records and is A & R of Chapter 24 Records. Always looking to push musical and sonic boundaries, he is just as relentlessly focused on moving things forward in his own work as he is committed to supporting the next generations to break through.

Born and raised in Nicosia, Cyprus, Constantinos Parisinos moved to the UK in early 00’s to study medicine. Electronic music quickly formed a gateway of expression. An obsessive collector of obscure melodic gems with an inherent attraction for repetitive sequences and slower, hypnotic rhythms; an enthusiast for the unconventional and the diverse underground music culture. 

Apart from his solo endeavours, Parisinos has formed a formidable sonic partnership with Stavros Potamitis (Stevie R). With a focus on blending Greek folk music (Rembetiko), mesmerising vocals and middle eastern scales with slower rhythms, acid lines and powerful percussion, their distinct sound captivates and hypnotises dancefloors. Together, they also release more experimental music under their more enigmatic alias After Altamont. Stavros Potamitis and Constantinos Parisinos are also harnessing their vision of electronic music through their label Inside Out Records. Aims for next year include a new live act and album.

Parisinos has worked with leading underground artists including Lena Platonos, Tolouse low Trax, MR TC, Anatolian Weapons, Zombies in Miami, A Strange Wedding and many more...

The Merin series continues its journey into the deeper corners of electronic music with Vol. 11, bringing together four forward-thinking artists across an eclectic spectrum of sound.

Navas (fresh from his EP on sister label BAU_HAUS), sets an emotive, electronica tone with 'Feel It'; Rami, recently seen at Renaissance’ event at Vagalume in Tulum, hooks-up with Loudr for the sophisticated, Afro-tinged 'Black Moon’; Add-us take us deeper with 'Blue Bird', a great example as to why the progressive genre is back on the tips of tongues and, last but by no means least, Ayan closes the collection with 'In My Defiance', a cool fusion of indie vibes and experimental edge.

Merin EP, Vol. 11 once again proves itself as a showcase for discovery, a release that celebrates diversity in sound while staying rooted in the underground.
