Another debutant to the Ablo roster, 2ape Pax presents the Anxiety EP, a fitting title for the uncertain times we have all faced this last 18 months, but with tracks that also hint at better times to come.

The EP contains four tracks that span broken-beat/bass, electronica, downtempo and ambient vibes. The use of sampled live instrumentation and perfectly constructed electronic elements makes this release a real audial treat.

The moustache clad producer/dj @sammybananas started out in Boston together with a fella named Max as the duo Certified Bananas (they did a smashing mix for us in Discobelle back in 2006 called "Sweden On Blast").

Sammy moved down to Brooklyn, became part of the Fool's Gold Records crew, and continues to douse out magical, funky club jams both with his original production work and with remixes for big names such as Chromeo and Maroon5 that manages to pay respect to the classic house/disco sound but also stays ahead of the curve.

This mix for us in Discobelle was made at the same time as Sammy wrecked havoc on SXSW and WMC, we're super glad he took the time out to churn out one seriously amazing mix that should have you dancing well into the summer.

Underground electronic hero Justin Robertson exceeded all expectations once again with his latest and greatest album. It was filled with a world of dub, disco, punk and psychedelic influences which all get teased out here by a selection of heavyweight remixers from legends of the scene, to the production stars of tomorrow. In Justin’s own words… “We asked a collection of my favourite artists to take apart tracks from my latest album. I trusted them to be bold and put their own stamp on the music. I wasn’t interested in focus grouping or market targeting, I just wanted to use producers who’s music I love, and who would have fearless fun without worrying about the consequences. They all rose to the challenge magnificently. I hope you dig them as much as I do.”

French-born Berlin-based duo @nummer dish out a proper feel-good tropical melter blazing with suave afro-funk hooks and dubbed-out guitar riffs amidst other rousing vibraphone melodies, enticing cowbells and cosmic arpeggios on rewind. Like setting up an improvised party in some idyllic, sun-bathed rainforest clearing, pleasantly hedged in by the fluid force of magic cascades, chlorophyllian green and the euphonic charm of multicoloured bird songs. Warm and sensuous tribal house groover in full effect.

Nummer's Tribute [Fragil Musique]

Known more for their dubby 'kosmische' and psychedelic post-disko, Glasgow label Invisible Inc seem to be wandering closer to the realms of the nightclub dancefloor these days. Not that anyone's complaining. With recent outings by Strange Culture and Sordid Sound System taking the lead, this one by Budapest's Bal5000 is quite possibly their most dancefloor friendly release yet.

Brainwaltzera debuts on FILM. The anonymous producer, whose work has has already received online approval from legendary british IDM auteur aphex twin, offers up an extended EP for the berlin based imprint. In 2015 a soundcloud profile under the name user18081971 - now identified as belonging to richard d. james, commented on curious Brainwaltzera upload quilat spring 1 [outtake]. The move prompted speculation as to who exactly is behind the music. Exquisitely produced and executed in such fine fashion so as to decry pure imitation - there’s plenty to theorise here. Regardless of their true creator - which will undoubtedly remain a secret for the time being, the compositions on FILM006 are of similarly high calibre. Varied in approach and marrying both electronic & acoustic elements with ease, the six tracks that comprise the record range from yearning ambient segues and dreamy down tempo grooves to otherworldly krautrock and more direct, dance floor fare - but remain bound tight as a cohesive and functional body of work by a glorious, arcane musicality. whether weaving soft electronic tones in and amongst snappy breaks or detuned drum-machine strikes, the artist’s ear for acoustic harmony is perhaps the pervading theme across the six tracks that make up the aecoba EP, marking it out as an excellent addition to the FILM label’s growing catalogue. Kasper Bjørke and Colder's "Black Magic" EP feels both brand new and like a return to something powerful rooted in what came before; post punk attitude, no wave skronk, disco drums and a classic techno pulse. It's heady, cerebral, deeply trippy music for adventurous dance floors. 
The Black Magic Remixes build on everything remarkable about the originals, pushing elements further towards- and away from- the conventions of the club which is the in-between where Throne of Blood loves to play. 
Kicking things off, London-based The Golden Filter (Optimo Records) shoot for the center of the dance floor, building the drama with staccato synths and a broken rhythm awash in dramatically swelling synths and vertiginous delay.
Building on the heady vibes of his recent remix of "In The Morning" by Smagghe &a Cross for Huntley & Palmers, Parisian mastermind Pilooski puts his hands on “Black Magic," building off-kilter harmonics from a mille feuille of analog synths while coaxing a twisted pop sensibility from the original before waves of delays begin dissolving elements to a slow motion drum machine rhythm lurching like a heart palpitation.
Paranoid London's Mutado Pintado rounds out the remixes with an uptempo take on "Black Magic" oozing with attitude. He adds his own vocals atop chopped up sax samples and a heavy four to the floor kick. At the midpoint, oddball vocal samples and a propulsive arpeggiated synth theme carry the song to a sweat-drenched finish.
To complete the package, Bjørke and Colder offer up an instrumental version of "Black Magic" for those moments when vocals would only break the spell.

Bedford Falls Players originally started out as a collective with @djMarkCooper, Terry Farley, Rob Webb and Justin Drake and has regularly featured local DJ's and producers over numerous releases... However, as things have evolved, Mark Cooper has taken the reigns and produces and writes with a more "Cosmic/Nu-Disco" vibe in mind.

The 'Moon EP' on @nightnoisemusic features two original tracks, the gloriously named "Moon - Chapter 1" - Agent Cooper's "Peak" time warm up Mix is followed by the no less impressive "Chapter 3" Agent Cooper's Black Lodge Excursion. 

To add to the impressive package "TiciTaci" Head Honcho, Duncan Gray has remixed 'Chapter 3'.

Then Sinchi favourites and fellow Amsterdammers @Pin-Up-Club  remix  'Moon - Chapter 1'.  A track with a nice flowing build and featuring some of Pin Ups trademark synth work.

Although a relatively new name to the scene, Barber is by no means wet behind the ear. His debut release see's him collaborate with Climbers and Silky on OFF Recordings - a comradary that would see the three create a new imprint, Faceless Recordings.

Barber's inspirations have grown from countless dance floor experiences, taking influence from the moods and feelings only a club atmostphere can offer. His productions break free from the confinements of genre formulaic's, as he calls on his musicianship to perform vocals, melodies and keys.
