Chris Stoker and Jamie Blanco's Ess O Ess outfit return for a fourth outing on their own Not An Animal Records with the Voice Inside EP, replete with classy mixes courtesy of The Backwoods atmospheric re-rub and Craig Richards stipped down, minimalist take. We plump to showcase the digital only Dub version; it's electro drums and scattered French vox set the tone immediately.  Delayed guitar chops and emotive pads elevate the atmosphere, as strobing bass synths provide an irresistable groove.

HF : How did you discover this track ? Why did you choose to edit it ?

NA : I discovered this song when my good friend Gil Abramov (Balagan) sent me a bunch of old israeli punk songs.. The moment I heard these vocals at the chorus I knew it could be a great hook for an edit 🙂
The rawness of these guys (Poplex) is very honest.. you can also see it by the video clip of the song.. I can taste the beer they drank in the 80's just by watching this video.

Love Forgotten floats, and it swings. It drifts like sand dunes and it drops like peak time underground. It’s a constant motion built from three decades worth of experiments in sound and song, a left of centre overview of one band’s career as heard in remixes, oddities, outtakes and edits. The result is a perfect flow of ambient electronics, house music and strung out Balearic mixes shot through with musicianship and sounds from all across the globe. 

Lovingly compiled by A Man Called Adam - Sally Rodgers and Steve Jones - from a vast and deep back catalogue, Love Forgotten takes pieces from every stage of their band’s journey and fuses them into a truly hypnotic whole. Reworks of classic singles sit next to commissions for the British Museum; collaborations with Idjut Boys, Sensory Productions and Ibizan legend José Padilla melt into gorgeous sunset acoustic sounds. It’s the perfect mixtape for the endless summer that’s playing out in your head.

Bringing together up and coming artists and veterans of the scene, the EP delves deep into dark, electronic textures, moving from the electro touches of винер, Kluentah and Black Eyes to the harsh industrial and EBM rhythms of TV.Out and Lost Soul Enterprises boss R Gamble.

He swooped aggressively over the village doing his daily inspections, a routine that occurred every day for an hour or so, around half two in the afternoon. Nosediving through the sky, he soared above the village gardens, violently shaking the windows and knocking over all manner of objects with the sheer force of his wings. The sky remained home but down here was his playground.

Following the inaugural release from label boss Sherø, Berlin-based label KlubKid return with their second release; a debut EP from Haute Dance, a project made up of DJ and artist Marina Bibik, DJ Kirill Shapovalov and producer Unfound.
