Hot on the heels of the acclaimed Tears Maker Chant 12” LP, illustrious French Electronic duo Froid Dub are back on Ransom Note Records with an interstellar remix package. Featuring the inimitable talents of Richard Fearless, Lena Willikens, Rug Dug, Tia Cousins, Zillas On Acid, Tolouse Low Tax, Timothy Clerkin and Vacant Heads, there is a little something special for all occasions on this colossal record. Slip into something comfortable and sit back.

Opening proceedings, Mr Richard Fearless starts us off with a bang with his remix of Control. Or, indeed, a warp. Bubbly Dubby bass abound, frenetic, IDM-esque beats skip along underneath the low end pummelling before giving way to luxuriant chord progressions. A perfect balance of light and shade, this is a weapons grade banger.

Next up, Lena Willikens puts her own distinctive imprint on Digital Pond. Upping the bpm and the pressure, this dark, synthy, Lofi safari is an anxiety attack is audio format. But an exceptionally pleasurable one!

Lead single comes from Strange Affair with their mix of Just One. Who are Strange Affair, we hear you ask? They are the exquisite combination of two big hitters, Ruf Dug and Tia Cousins! We’re delighted to introduce their maiden voyage as a production pair, and they make waves here with a frenzied reimagining of the original.

Elsewhere, Philly Chug Champions Zillas On Acid turn On The Nose into a dance floor stomper of epic proportions. Tolouse Low Trax takes on Terri’s Dub, sliding into a pair of laidback slacks and sipping a cocktail on the showery terrace, his insouciant approach will have you dancing in the most relaxed way imaginable.

Timothy Clerkin remixes LP lead track Tears Maker, which in Froid Dub’s very own words is “like been catapulted back to a DJ Alfredo mix at Pacha Club in 92”. Hands in the air! Finally, our old friends Oliver Ho and Christian Donaghey (Autumns) team up as Vacant Heads to undertake Tears Maker too, moulding it into an angular, industrial dirge, brimming with sleaze, distortion and grimy 808s. You have been warned!

With its 10th edition, Dalmata Daniel’s split series brings together two artists who have both left their mark on the label’s compilations, now presenting their first full releases on the imprint. Anatolian Weapons and The Spy approach electronic music from different angles, one rooted in hypnotic techno rituals, the other in raw electro and post-punk energy. Both craft sounds that thrive in the shadows of the dancefloor.

On the A-side, Anatolian Weapons delivers three cold, hypnotic cuts. "Trapped" opens with heavy EBM percussion and a buzzkill bassline, setting a tense, mechanical tone. "Further Spiralling Down" sinks deeper into darkness with a grinding low end, tight drums, and electro-tinged claps, forming the side’s relentless highlight. "Apathy Through Shock" closes with pounding, catatonic rhythms and a mournful, otherworldly melody, pushing the listener into disorienting depths.

Flipping over, The Spy’s raw, electro-driven energy takes hold. "Same Blur" channels sharp electro beats with a punkish sneer and cosmic synth lines. "Falling", featuring The Spy’s own vocals, leans into melancholic new wave, pairing bouncy rhythms with bittersweet melodies. The closing "Pretending" drifts into the darkest corners, offering low-slung, haunted electro layered with distant, spectral harmonies.

The man, the myth, the legend and big influence to Blank Wave: Alessandro Parisi is an Italian electronic musician from Pordenone - also known as Hesperius Draco and involved in many projects such as Sacrestia del Santissimo Sangue and Dynamite Winter Palace, describes his musical style as “Esoteric Disco“. 

Influenced by baroque and romantic classical music, Mr. Parisi has created a blend of retro future and dark ritual electronix sound with references to past civilizations, spiritual harmonies and ancient sacred mysteries with a post-punk touch. Right on time for halloween comes guest mix no. 114!

New Beat swagger meets EBM menace on the latest Kri release. New York based producer, DJ and Samo Records owner Facets channels the raw spirit of late ’80s New Beat and EBM into a modern club context with stripped-down rhythms and tense electronics lock.

Four original tracks are bolstered with two heavyweight remixes courtesy of Marcello Giordani, the Italo Deviance maestro, and the iron-fisted British techno icon Broken English Club / Oliver Ho.

Lathe cut vinyl and digital will be released on the 29th of October 2025.

Anyone following this guest mix series will probably know our next guest. He’s been a huge inspiration for Blank Wave, and one of the main reasons this platform exists in the first place.

Luca Venezia aka Curses — the Berlin-based DJ, producer, and label curator — blends New Wave, Post-Punk, Italo-Disco and EBM into dark, romantic club soundscapes that bridge nostalgia and modern energy (like no other). His latest album Another Heaven (2024) showcases his evolving sound, following Incarnadine (2022) and his debut Romantic Fiction (2018).

Together with Skelesys, he brought the duo Silver Tears to life, delivering a guitar-driven mixture of Post-Punk and Dark Wave with haunting melodies and cinematic textures. Curses also curates the brilliant Next Wave Acid Punx compilation series and runs Ombra International, a label dedicated to shadowy dance music from around the globe. His live sets, often featuring bassist Dame Bonnet, add a raw, post-punk edge to the dance floor and you should visit his live show whenever possible. With his monthly radio show Together Alone, Curses continues to navigate the twilight zone between wave and club culture — making him one of the defining voices of this darkly romantic movement.

Scheiss Universum 
Ich wach auf wie ein Knacks im Kopf. Nicht laut, nicht wild. Einfach nur: Wach. Es regnet. Wieder. Natürlich. Der Wald klingt nach nassem Filz, und ich sitz auf diesen Stahlstufen vorm Bauwagen, die aussehen wie das Fußpedal eines Raumschiffs – total kaputtromantisch.
Mein Magen weiß noch, dass da vorhin ein kleiner Imbiss war. Mein Kopf nicht. Mein Körper kämpft offenbar, ohne dass ich ihn gebeten hab. Ich sitz daneben und warte – darauf, dass irgendwas einfach weitergeht, wie eine schlecht erzogene Serie, die nie endet.
Was ist Schlaf eigentlich? Früher war das mal Erholung. Jetzt ist das bloß Angriffspunkt. Wenn ich liege, bin ich offen. Wie ein Zelt ohne Reißverschluss. Wenn ich sitze, am Feuer, nachts, halb verfroren, halb wach – da kicken sie mich nicht weg. Ob Illusion oder nicht – das hier draußen ist der einzige Ort, wo mein Zustand nicht analysiert wird, sondern einfach existiert.
Zelle B. Das bin ich. Und auch nicht. Weil Bilder sich auflösen, wenn Alltag reinsickert. Weil selbst Namen keine Wand bauen gegen das, was man fühlt.
Die Diagnose? „Schwach maligne und langsam.“ Klingt wie ein Genre für mein Leben. Ich nenne es: Langsames Leuchten bei geschlossener Tür.
Und dann ist da Mursch. Mein Kater. Mein Zellengenosse. Mein leiser Revoluzzer. Die wollen mir erzählen, dass ich ihn frei lassen soll. Als wär Liebe ein Käfig. Aber sie kennen ihn nicht – diesen Blick, wenn ich ein Kabel neu biege oder wieder zu viel nachdenk. Er sitzt dann da wie ein Außerirdischer mit Herz. Und ich? Ich bin das Raumschiff.
Links, rechts, Mitte – mir egal. Ideologie hilft nicht gegen Nächte am Ofen, wenn du frierst und trotzdem noch lachen kannst.
Ich nenn das hier nicht „Sterben“. Ich nenn das: Stufen aus Stahl, Herz aus Chaos, und ein Kater, der mich besser kennt als jeder Arzt.
...Schlaf. Das war mal was Heiliges. Früher. Als die Welt noch nicht unter der Haut lag. Aber heute? Heute ist Schlaf ein verdächtiger Zustand. Keine Erholung. Sondern eine Einladung zum Angriff.
Wenn ich liege, bin ich ausgeleuchtet. Alles, was krank ist, kriecht aus den Ritzen. Ich werd durchlässig. Wie ein Netz, das nicht mehr fischt, sondern verliert. Mein Körper kämpft. Die ganze Zeit. Ich sitze daneben wie ein Betrachter – manchmal fast wie ein Zuschauer beim eigenen Ende. Und dann leg ich mich hin. Und statt Ruhe kommt dieser Energieabfall. Wie ein Stromausfall mitten im Konzert.
Ich spür das ganz deutlich: Schlaf macht mich schwach. Nicht still – sondern haltlos. Und trotzdem will man mir erzählen, ich soll ausruhen. Dabei ist das Feuer in der Nacht oft mein einziger Schutz. Solange ich wach bin, brennt was in mir. Nicht viel – vielleicht nur eine Zigarette Hoffnung. Aber wenigstens warm.
Hier draußen, auf den Stahlstufen, mitten im Wald, ist Schlaf keine Pause. Er ist eine Schwelle. Zwischen Sein und Verschwinden. Und manchmal frag ich mich, ob ich mir das überhaupt leisten kann – mich hinzugeben, wenn mein Körper ständig auf Alarm steht. Vielleicht ist das echte Ausruhen längst was für die Gesunden. Für die Erfolgsverwalteten. Für die, die nicht jede Nacht spüren, wie fragil ein Mensch sein kann.
Ich schlaf trotzdem. Aber nie ganz. Nie echt. Nur so weit, wie Mursch’s Atem mir sagt: Ich bin noch da. Dann reicht mir das.
