Amsterdam based Sinchi is a multi-faceted platform, including a DJ collective, event promoter, mix series, blog and now label. The new not-for-profit label will pledge the profits from each release to a hand-picked charity and kicks off with a fresh single from @LeonorOficial, featuring remixes from @CursesForever and @SaschaFunkeOfficial.

Profits from the first release will be benefiting The International Elephant Foundation, an NGO which focuses on protecting the severely endangered Asian elephant and the threatened African elephant. They support programs that protect elephants, habitat, and the villagers that live with elephants in their “backyards” by reducing human-elephant conflict.

The artist behind the single is Leonor, a DJ and producer from Guadalajara, Mexico who now resides in France. An upcoming star, he has released on Nein Records, Toolroom, and Tom Tom Disco while charting in top positions on Beatport and Juno. He is rapidly making a real impact on the scene and in heavy demand as both dj and producer.

His fantastic single here is an organic and inventive track littered with the sound of jungle wildlife, indigenous percussion and vocal chants and loose house drums. Big claps and raw loops help build the pressure making for a sure-fire bomb that will detonate any floor.

First remixer is Curses, the New Yorker based in Berlin, known for blending rock & roll with the darker side of disco on labels such as Bordello A Parigi, Throne Of Blood, and Ombra International. The Rinse FM France resident brings all that to his haunting, chugging, macho disco remix, which has slapping hits and low slung bass all making you move.

Then comes Sacha Funke, an experienced artist with credits for his deep, graceful sounds on the likes of Kompakt, BPitch Control and Turbo. Here he reworks ‘King of Elephants in the Sequence’ into a flailing and unhinged house track with a giant rasping bassline and trippy synth details. It’s one to shake things up and bring real colour and freakiness to the club.

School '94 is at the front of these young projects with their sophisticated, melody-driven material, pulling equally from classic punk and modern pop reference points. The tracks are stripped down, honest and expertly played. High, romantic basslines curl around smart percussion parts and blue guitar notes to provide a backdrop for the unbreakable vocals of singer, Alice Botéus.

MIND CLEAR 012 - CRAVE - LET'S DO VOODOO!

The Hard Fist label notches up release number five from a fresh new family member in the form of Mr TC, with remixes from Lokier and Khidja. At the forefront of the Glaswegian music scene, Mr TC moves through genres from new wave to post punk, industrial, disco and tropical oddities. He plays mesmeric live shows with synths, drum machines and guitars. This EP— which is an allusion to the origins of trippy dance music—is his first solo effort since 2016 and takes you to the void of space, seeking freedom from moral prohibitions and standards, refuge from sexual and gender prejudice, exile from oppression, and aims to rupture aesthetic boundaries.
Then comes ‘Depth Gauge,’ which stylishly takes you from the desert into the depths of the ocean. The former Middle Eastern setting becomes an Atlantis landscape surrounded by coral reefs, seaweed plants, octopus and jellyfish, with dub drums and sustained chords all sinking you into a state of hypnosis. This is perfectly pumping club music with a menacing heart of real human emotions.

Shcaa - An Ungrateful Death

Hybrid, mutated strains of rave music with influence from the sounds of Detroit, London and Berlin  – @aquarian makes raw, arresting and immediate music aimed squarely at the dance floor. His sound draws from both sides of the Atlantic, combining Drexcyian electro, old school jungle and UK grime with vertical singularity.  The Canadian born, Berlin based artist broke out with a trio of records for UNO NYC, with his 2014 self titled EP cementing him as an artist to watch while landing him a mix on Resident Advisor's coveted podcast series.

Since then he has released records through his own culinary-rave imprint, Hanger Management, described by RA as "Aquarian at his best: searing club melodrama, built from whip-crack breaks, ground-splitting bass and acrid techno adornments.  Most recently, his debut collaboration with  Deapmash as AQXDM on Bedouin Records has been lauded by leading publications while drawing support from Aphex Twin, Ben UFO, Objekt, Avalon Emerson, Dax J and more.

Through difficult times we turn to the passions that push ourselves and keeps us moving forward. In this new year, Forth celebrates with fresh momentum by presenting our first footprint: 

Forth’s Various Artists Vol. 2 is an exploration of the escapism within electronic music. Curated with thought and precision, we aimed for a balanced and purposeful touch of breaks, IDM and techno among a gritty palette of otherworldly sounds. It’s the second rendition in a series that aims to represent another full stack lineup of artists from Toronto, which now includes: Aquarian (Bedouin Records, UNO NYC), E-Saggila (Bank Records, Summer Isle), Basic Soul Unit (Creme Organization, Dekmantel), alongside Forth collective’s City Dance Corporation (Forth) & TYVYT-IYTYI (Pinkman, Forth).

Forth is a music collective from Toronto comprising of Hadi Mousattat, Lukas Switlicki, Joel Eel and Mark Hill. Having started out throwing DIY style raves, we became influenced by the city's hunger for self-expression. It inspired us to create a platform for artists to realise their forward thinking ideas on the global stage.

Tom Tom Disco kicks off the new year with an EP from label founder @RichardRossa. In their own words an ‘Earth based label for spaced out people’.  Based in Stockholm but inspired with culture all around the world, recent releases have seen an Italian Guxi EP inspired by his fathers journey into Papua New Guinea and felly countryman Frank Agrario with a Middle Eastern inspired theme.

Rossa’s ‘Phantom’ EP features 2 originals and 3 remixes from some of the hottest talent from Mexico Leonor, Theus Mago and Mijo (@mijomijo) .

The latter takes on ‘Phanteon’ and creates a layered trip with a steady but driving beat which  induces a trance like state.

In the midst of the desert there was little sign of any life. They watched out from their land cruiser towards the burning sand and gazed upon what could only be described as a holy hell. This was supposed to be a place of great miracles, of beauty and towering glory. However, for now it was simply a burning expanse of open wasteland in the back end of nowhere. The jeep's engine spluttered slightly as they moved off towards the dying sun, they were but a little black shadow against a backdrop of eternity. 

Curses is a producer whom we have been supportive of at Ransom Note for many years, his music blurs the lines between house, techno, krautrock, italo and all sorts of other obscure experimental fringes. This new EP for Wrong Era is fierce.

The label launched in January 2019 and has featured a combination of singles and compilation releases with artists such as Sascha Funke, Curses, TAPAN, Damon Jee, Biesmans, Khidja, Italo Brutalo, Shubostar, Anatolian Weapons, and Tolouse Low Trax, to name a few and its objective is to promote positive social change and raise funds for our Sinchi Foundation, which supports Indigenous forest guardians in the Brazilian Amazon.
