Machinegewehr tells a tale of interstellar love with his third EP for Bordello A Parigi, The Cordyceps. Four glimmering works make up this star crossed story of electro disco. The listener is wrapped in warmth from the outset with the sweetened vocals and clean synths of the title piece. “Shivergold”, with its lush pads and arpeggios, pulls you to the floor before the pulsating grooves of “Knight 634” take hold. The final embrace comes with the soothing sounds of “A Girl You Know”. A lost romance from distant world, a kiss goodbye.

Blindetonation hits double figures with a suitably notable new EP from Aurum Miles. Pardon Moi, Il Est Vilaine and Thomass Jackson all serve up sizzling remixes to complete this interesting package. 

Miles hails from Lithuania and has grown up around shoegaze, rock and British indie, and was later touched by electronic sounds. A keys, drums and guitar player who mixes up all these influences with narcotic weirdness, he has released on this label before and always impresses. 

The excellently elastic ‘Few Feets’ is a sleazy, low slung machine made disco jam with skewed synths, punk hits and dirty bass. Exotic vocals and dark spoken words flesh out the wonky groove and the whole thing is hugely intoxicating. ‘Easy Come Easy Go’ is a menacing number with more filthy bass guitar riffs that snake along an urban sounding landscape. More dehumanised vocals bring an edgy feel and cosmic synths serve to trip you out. Last original ‘Mojo’ completes this brilliant disco freak show with off kilter synths and guttural guitar riffs that add up to dark cosmic excellence. 

First to remix is Berlin Based New Wave Duo Pardon Moi aka James Brook and Thomas Freudenthal. They flip ‘Few Feets’ into a surging track with shooting synths that reach to the skies. It’s a spine tingling cut with plenty of intergalactic energy.  Then come the duo of Il Est Vilaine, who make twisted electronic music and get their machines dancing on labels like Dialect. Their take on ‘Easy Come Easy Go’ is libidinous and dripping with a moody tension. Propped up by rugged bass and coloured with naughty chords, it’s a psyched-out and vital version.  Lastly, label regular and esteemed modern disco man Thomass Jackson works ‘Mojo’ in to a characterfully chugging, flipped out number with scale-riding melodies and percolating bass that takes you on a real trip. 

This is an inventive package of perfectly macho dark disco.

@PlayPalMusic 's head honcho @TenienteCastillo returns with this 2nd EP on the label, boasting three  original tracks of beauty, alongside three superb remixes from long term label contributors Thomass Jackson, Rigopolar and Theus Mago.

In 'Life Is Showing You A Dialogue That Needs Your Attention', Castillo tightly ties some of the deepest and darkest audio elements to shake and sign on; throbbing and relentless basslines, gristly atmospheric pads, raw snares and buzzing guitar licks. elements that define what's become his signature sound.

@ThomassJackson adds a growly eastern vibe. The clangs, toms, bleeps and squelches give way to naughty but nice ode to the sunrise, befitting of the Calypso Records boss.

From top to bottom, tall windows covered the staggering high rise in the centre of the city. As the sun set on another day, the orange and pink hues reflected on the building, painting it in dreamy pastel shades. Inside the clock hands pointed to 5pm: closing time. In their throngs, men and women dressed in uniform exited the building in single file. Not a hair out of place, not a crease to be seen, their moves synchronised. Every day the routine was the same, nothing ever changed. They were slaves to a system, to a corporate entity that had juristiction over their every move. 

IND 003 marks the second vinyl release on INDUSTRIA, the new project label of Robi Insinna AKA Headman. The result of a meeting with French band Vox Low after playing together in Bordeaux, the swap remix record will be available on a limited press of 200 records, 190 of which will be hand stamped and numbered. INDUSTRIA is Robi Insinna’s multi-disciplined art project combining different forms of artistic expression across music, artwork, fashion, video and products.

Kolago Kult is an irregular party and DJ/VJ/production collective based in London. Formerly known as Tales of Voodoo, they transcend musical genres and serve up anything from disco to afrobeat to psyched-out weirdness. First up on this latest EP is the freaky ‘Sangoma’ which sets the mood for the ceremony with tribal drums and ancient chants. It’s a wobbly dub cut that is expertly loose and limb-jangling. In ‘Curse go Back’ an old vocal sample takes us on a journey amongst steel drums and marimbas, this one is a real trip deep into the jungle on a pounding beat embellished with exotic FX. On remix duties, two old Calypso members are brought back to spice things up. Firstly, TYU takes ‘Sangoma’ straight into a twisted territory with a superbly entrancing reworking. Colossio then brings a darker and hypnotic mood to ‘Curse go Back’ to finalise the ceremony. This latest transmission from Kolago Kult is a neo-ritualistic EP that is sure to cast a fine spell on all who hear it.

Playground attacks again, this time with 3 originals from the Venezuelan, Berlin based, Alejandro Molinari plus 3 remixes by Mijo, Middle Sky Boom and Teniente Castillo featuring Skelesys. An Ep loaded with mysterious voices, rocker beats and dark landscapes.

The Israelite Middle Sky Boom takes 'Kann Dich Heilen' for the first remix of this release. Everything starts with a female voice overdubbing the original voice supported by a pad of percussions. Suddenly the bassline enters alongside acid touches of flying synths. A chorus of voices starts to sing a hypnotic mantra with epic sounds behind. Crazy sounds invades the track, all is madness.
