Vomvo is back with a cinematic story by the Danish artist Pete Oak. He is definitely one of the men to follow this year. Pete presents an amazing selection of pure electronic sounds giving his personal touch and offering his own soundtrack. Vomvo is a conceptual album created by Sincopat that gives a different artist every year the chance to orchestrate a personal vision of his sound. Darlyn Vlys was the first one to develop this concept and AFFKT continued last year with another stunning collection. In 2007, we have Pete Oak as the leader, so let's enjoy the journey: "For this VOMVO I wanted to create a dark, melancholic and emotional mood. I’m a big fan of the dark aspect of house music. For me it brings out a lot of emotions and joy - it pulls me into a small universe with no worries, no hate, no pain and no Donald Trumps - only love”. “All the music is handpicked from producers that I have worked with in one-way or another. Big and small artists - all of whom got something unique to bring to the table. I’m really thrilled and proud with the result. A big and special thanks to SINCOPAT for this opportunity – it is a great honour!". Vomvo 03 is a timeless album work and selection handcrafted with care and love by Pete Oak for Sincopat. Steyoyoke Black is proud to welcome Italian duo Never Lost to its ranks with their sublime ‘Minor’ EP. Featuring 3 fast paced techno hypnotizers, ‘Minor’ is bound to make waves for the Italian newcomers.

‘Minor’ starts out in eclectic fashion with a thrusting bass line and hectic percussion. A tremorous lead fuels the tracks ominous atmosphere before it subtly disintegrates into a silent climax. Ominous stabs re-enter the fray, building continuously until the tension is artfully released by a pounding kick and toms. 

‘Sentiero’ introduces a pinch of bliss to the Never Lost sound. Where ‘Minor’ is ominous, ‘Sentiero’ releases waves of heart-wrenching nostalgia. An oppressive kick sets the scene for blippy horns and arps to work their haunting magic, while a divine pad pristinely rounds off this excursion into the musical soul of the artists.

‘Inertia’ completes the trifecta in splendid fashion. An otherworldly pad and a throbbing monotonous bass progressively induce a state of trance in the listener. A compelling lead synthesiser draws all the attention while rims and percussions lathered in reverb subtly let the track drift onto another plane.

Never Lost have created a stunning debut on Steyoyoke Black with ‘Minor’. While all three tracks shine in their own right, Never Lost show that they have diligently honed and crafted a sound they can call their own.

2019 sees the introduction of a new ATLANT concept in the first of our Re-WIRED series, which presents a track from our back catalogue to different artists who take the circuitry, stems and elements apart - to create something new fresh and innovative.

Thodoris Triantafillou’s original of ‘Scorn’ garnered attention from a host of DJs in 2018, with the likes of Solomun, Black Coffee, Adana Twins and John Digweed all featuring the infectious vocal in live sets and radio shows. Given Scorn’s genre crossing popularity it seemed the logical choice to remix and Jonas Rathsman, Night Talk and Prop & Ganda all demonstrate creativity and diversity in their approach.

First up is Sweden’s Jonas Rathsman [ELEMENTS] with his intricate and unique take on ‘Scorn’. Even though Jonas fuses many layers there is always a complete sense of space throughout this mini opus. Buzzing lines, simmering arps, clanging organic percussives and chopped up vox awaken your senses as deep bass, a nagging groove, modal diatonic chords and a momentous breakdown engulf you. The off kilter keys and use of the iconic vocal throughout make this the perfect mood setter.

Already part of the ATLANT family, Switzerland’s Night Talk returns to the label fresh from the ATL020 Moran EP and releases on his AYM label, plus MoBlack. Lukas’s remix is a dark classy 4/4 synth infused builder, using the vocal to increase the drama alongside jagged lines and stirring FX before emotional flowing keys enter for a driving sustained dance-floor barrage. Plus the DJ friendly outro is perfect for extended looped musical transitions.

This maiden Re-WIRED journey completes a perfect circle bringing ‘Scorn’ back to Greece via Prop & Ganda, who have close links to Thodoris Triantafillou’s Glory Hill Studio under the hill of the ancient Acropolis citadel. With a real dusk vibe Prop & Ganda have produced a pure club gem that froths away, unleashing menacing arps and heavy bass. The ‘Scorn’ vocal is used to full effect, especially in a breakdown that make you imagine your hands are raised, feeling the cool night air on your fingers amongst a hot intense crowd all swaying in unison to the beats.


All three of these remixes have been road tested by ATLANT impresario BOg from Tel Aviv and Beirut to Kiev and Odessa. It’s safe to say that all three re-imaginings work brilliantly. So it’s a huge thank you to all four artists involved with re-calibrating the wires and circuits on this project.
