Morrice is no less than a pioneer of Portuguese techno, churning out high-octane bangers and rave-tinged rollers alike from his hometown of Porto since the mid 90s. Lucky for us he didn't slow down, and his fresh offerings are as enticing as ever - we got our hands on some of the finest crop of Morrice's charactheristically deranged, sonic techno and 'Back on Tracks' was born.

Radio Slave announces Part 2 of Rekids Special Projects ‘Actualize’ compilation.

Rekids Special Projects, the no-nonsense techno-focussed sub-label of Radio Slave, aka Matt Edwards’ Rekids, launched in 2017 and has since released music from the likes of Mark Broom, Luke Hess, Jon Hester, and more. For the 50th release, Edwards readies ‘Actualize’, bringing acts from the wider Rekids universe into one slick collection, with the second part arriving this February alongside a DJ mix of the tracks. 

“I had no idea how big this project would become when I started planning the ‘Actualize’ compilation back in October. With 28 tracks, I decided to split the comp into 2 parts, and it also gave me and some of the other artists featured here a chance to finish their tracks. I’m super happy with ‘Actualize’, and it’s a great honour to have guest artists such as Slam and Ian Pooley’s Silvershower project on RSPX.” - Radio Slave

Marco Faraone - Why

Portuguese techno figurehead Lewis Fautzi returns to Soma with the Properties Specifications EP. A mainstay on the Soma roster for 10 years, Fautzi has progressed through the global ranks to become one of techno’s most recognisable acts. A consistent and competent producer, Fautzi’s sound has evolved through the years yet remains modern and as on point as ever.

Density is a visceral yet hypnotic opener, its subtle drive is pushed via its instantly building, electric synth hook. Severity continues down a dark and hypnotic patch as polyrhythmic percussion guides a pulsating and incessant groove. Malleability once again displays Fautzi’s control over specific elements, each grafting over the other to create new depths of rhythm throughout the track. Tension closes out the EP but does so in emphatic form. The most driving track on the release, thumping low end and crisp percussion are backed with twisted synths and dark atmospheres that swell throughout.

Tras las dos primeras entregas con remixes de los consolidados Ben sims y Oscar Mulero, Kike completa un “EP” estrictamente en solitario para el tercer capítulo de la etiqueta.
“Density” es algo mas que es un simple título, es una declaración de intenciones que describe a la perfección el carácter del disco. El sonido cristalino y repetitivo de los “bleeps” crea la atmósfera de hipnosis perfecta. La aparición de los “claps” de 909 y un “pad” brillante elevan la profundidad única de este track.
“They” nos hace bajar unos cuantos metros bajo tierra y nos presenta un techno mas áspero con una mezcla de texturas que nos sumergen en un viaje a través del túnel.
“Organic” muestra la cara mas minimalista de Pravda, un “beat” constante que se filtra para dar forma a un iceberg de sonido, no son necesarios mas elementos. Material excepcional para mezclas largas y profundas.
La referencia acaba con “Exoplanet”, un viaje al espacio exterior en el que las cajas de ritmo de clásicas vuelven a tomar protagonismo en compañía de sonidos densos y metálicos que recorren este EP.

Senoid, is the label of the indefatigable producer Kike Pravda, it strikes back with a deep, direct and mental techno release by his owner.
After the first two chapters with remixes from the well recognized Ben Sims and Oscar Mulero, Kike comes back with a full EP on his own for third episode of the label.

“Density” is more than a simple title, it’s a statement of intentions that describes perfectly the character of the record. The crystalline and repetitive sound of the bleeps creates the perfect hypnosis atmosphere. The emergence of the 909 claps and a bright pad elevate the unique depth of this track.
“They” bring us some meters under the ground and presents us the rough side of techno, with a mix of textures that immerse us in trip through a tunnel.
“Organic” shows the minimalistic face from Pravda’s footprint, a constant beat filters to shape a sound iceberg, no more elements are needed. Exceptional material for long and deep mixes.
The release ends with “Exoplanet”, a journey to outer space in which the classic drum machines resumed their role with the company of dense and metallic sounds that characterize this EP.

After the first installment – a Various-Artists-EP with contributions by Matrixxman and multiple residents – Berlin-based party series and label Stützpunkt is back with its second release of the year. It seems like there was only one logical choice when it came to deciding which artist will be in charge of the young imprints first solo release. Therefore, SP002 features @staimm, one of the initiators of the collective more than five years ago, and his very first solo release.

The record starts with its title track. "Chord141" superbly embodies Staim's signature style – New-School-Tribal. Hard-hitting percussions and jungle-inspired drum loops are racing each other on the highway of euphoria. All while the floating dub chords seem to enchant the framework with its fantastic spell.
For the second track of the A-side multifaceted producer Deapmash put "Chord141" through his remix treatment. Switching out the straight kick drum for a martial breakbeat and only partially adapting the chord progression, the French artist not only reinterprets but reinvents the original composition.

On the B-side, it's back to business. "Planet Groove" doubles down on the mantra that Staim has set for his music. Here, the chords are more playful while still remaining rough and focused, perfectly suited for any rave, anyplace, anytime. The record ends on a high note, as raw dance energy makes room for "Lost Places". Staim goes for a more abstract form of rave nostalgia and serves a broken beat accompanied by floating sounds of transcendent melancholy. With all of this, he doesn't lose his animation, still pursuing his energetic ideals.

As a digital bonus, Staim adds the tool banger "Give Me", inspired by his signature pure rave style.
