Historically, society has always needed one form of tonic or another. Tonics invigorate, restore, refresh and stimulate; much like this group of rising stars with their eyes on the prize. We’ve trawled some of the finest up & coming UK talent that the scene has to offer and hand-picked 6-tracks to kick start our brand new VA series of EPs in ‘Tonics: Batch 1’.

Kicking off proceedings and returning for her first release on the imprint since the ‘Summer Soul EP’ in 2018, we gladly welcome back London producer Dushi, with a jazzy number titled ‘Lost In The Waves’. We’re greeted with wonderfully wide, warm strings and an almost Middle Eastern soundscape in the intro, followed by an uplifting, orchestral-style drop - complete with progressive, jungle percussion. 

London native Lally is second up to the plate, with a sun drenched, rolling scorcher titled ‘All The Time’ - a palpable amen dream of tumbling sub, twinkling bells and lush, longing vocals. This track marks his first official release, and if this is anything to go off, we’ll be seeing a lot more of him! 

Dorset resident & new kid on the block Vektah undoubtedly delivers on the title with his track ‘Request’. The tune opens with luscious, swirling synths which fast descend into honks of incoming bass, jungle breaks and ragga vocals which will almost certainly have you shouting at your nearest DJ, demanding them to “run it”.

Makah’s ‘Crest’ rides in like a seasoned surfer, the intro rhythmically building tension with bubbling textures and washing synths amid swinging yet techy breaks, screeches and boundless bass. The second debut on the project, this accomplished first outing means this Cornwall-born composer is definitely one to watch for 2021.  

The third and final newcomer is Brighton boy Silloh and his debut ‘Strange Matter’. The track opens with cascading, shimmering chimes and a slight air of unease. The drop kicks like a mule, boasting roaring grunts of bass, high velocity drums; all of which are sure to evoke some downright evil expressions in the rave! 

Finally, Manchester’s own Motiv calls for last orders with the deceptively titled ‘Crave’ a deep, warm hug of a half time tune. Complete with wide, wobbling pads and clicking percussion wrapped in hypnotic vocals, you’ll no doubt long to hear this track, like some sort of uncontrollable urge.

So get your orders in for 6 doses of the finest effervescent d&b that money can buy, and raise a glass to the next batch of bubbling talent, pouring into all good stores on the 21st of May 2021.

After the initial aftermath that was caused by “Infinite Impact”, things started shifting and living on their own. Along with our usual releases, we have also started to publish free downloads via our Soundcloud, which ended up like a perfect platform for artists that deserves to get a shine. In the second part “Assembly Assault”, relationships started to cultivate and get shaped much more tenaciously and dynamically since this compilation became the germ behind the bloom of our SINFUL MAZE producers community in the form of a daily chat for the artistic and the joys and hardships of everyday life lasting till nowadays… That grew into 'RODINA'!

SINFUL MAZE brings you the 3rd part continuing with the trilogy of the Various Artists Compilation lore, the last and the biggest. In the depths of space, between nebulae and stars alike, there extends an impenetrable primordial darkness that suffuses all of the light which travels the cosmos’ great expanse. This much is commonly known, but what is less so known is that within this web of darkness lurk a litany of cosmic horrors, uniquely adapted to their homes between the stars and with the power to tug upon the foundational forces of the universe to truly terrifying effect.

Amongst these otherworldly beings is the one known only as the BULLDOG. Composed solely of flayed flesh stretched across a jumbled skeletal frame, the BULLDOG extends its influence over the primal savagery found throughout the universe as the embodiment of the visceral struggle between opposed forms of life as they each seek to rend each other from existence. The BULLDOG feeds upon this chaos, and it is said that it exacts blood tribute from every such conflict in the form of flesh from the defeated, grafting the forms of the fallen onto its ever-expanding body as a colossus of carnage. Among a select few to which the BULLDOG is known, fewer still yet worship such a fearsome creature, seeking to reap bloody reward as a sacrifice to the being in trade for only a sliver of its aberrant power. As its influence warps their minds, these disciples of the BULLDOG become evermore fervent in their devotion to its unending fury which drives them, howling as beasts, to sacrifice themselves in ultimate bloodlust as a final gift before the cosmic beast’s endlessly hungering eyes.

Woe to any who should wish to wield the powers of the BULLDOG, for the bloodlust shall consume them and see them bound in torment to the mass of flesh stretched across the beast’s body!

SITRI makes his EATBRAIN debut with his EP BULLDOG, rising from the ranks of the label’s faithful to become their newest champion on the merit of his savage soundscapes and unrelenting basslines. As he showcases his sound on the three tracks within, SITRI makes clear his devotion to EATBRAIN’s core tenets as each sonic sequence delivers a deluge of Neurofunk tonalities even more destructive than the last.

Following the release of their LP sampler ‘Pissed Up’, Forum now delivers the brand new sounds of their debut album as a project. ‘Symposium’ sets the tone for their burgeoning career together, one which they launched within the ProgRAM camp, a label which has spent ten years in the game and sits as the sister-label of historic imprint RAM Records. It was only apt that they would use this name to drop their biggest body of work to date, with it symbolizing the start of Forum, although known under artist names such as The Clamps, Opsen and SKS, they’re certainly no strangers to the drum & bass genre.

The rumbling tones and homage to their home country ‘Jouvence’ kicks off proceedings, meanwhile ‘Tandoori’ with its guttural movements and ‘Steady State’ ft. Medic MC adds an urgency to the track list. The ebbing and flowing current of ‘Corruption’ comes out next, as ‘In My Mind’ continues the bass heavy offerings, and ‘The Wegger’ with Cecil Hotel introduces you to another familiar ProgRAM name. ‘Every Step Define Me’, ‘Ohka’, the inclusion of the album’s sampler and ‘Medicine Device’ meanwhile continues the high production quality and cavernous bass riffs.

Finally, LaMeduza sets themselves as a featuring artist with ethereal vocals cutting through the grinding rhythms of ‘Mesmerise’, as ‘Summer Breeze’ changes the mood with a delivery which rolls between its lush layers. Following the release of their LP sampler ‘Pissed Up’, Forum now delivers the brand new sounds of their debut album as a project. ‘Symposium’ sets the tone for their burgeoning career together, one which they launched within the ProgRAM camp, a label which has spent ten years in the game and sits as the sister-label of historic imprint RAM Records. It was only apt that they would use this name to drop their biggest body of work to date, with it symbolizing the start of Forum, although known under artist names such as The Clamps, Opsen and SKS, they’re certainly no strangers to the drum & bass genre.

The rumbling tones and homage to their home country ‘Jouvence’ kicks off proceedings, meanwhile ‘Tandoori’ with its guttural movements and ‘Steady State’ ft. Medic MC adds an urgency to the track list. The ebbing and flowing current of ‘Corruption’ comes out next, as ‘In My Mind’ continues the bass heavy offerings, and ‘The Wegger’ with Cecil Hotel introduces you to another familiar ProgRAM name. ‘Every Step Define Me’, ‘Ohka’, the inclusion of the album’s sampler and ‘Medicine Device’ meanwhile continues the high production quality and cavernous bass riffs.

Finally, LaMeduza sets themselves as a featuring artist with ethereal vocals cutting through the grinding rhythms of ‘Mesmerise’, as ‘Summer Breeze’ changes the mood with a delivery which rolls between its lush layers. "With the words of the Supreme Entity still ringing in their ears, Scruggs and Sonny Jim struggled to their feet and drew their revolvers from their holsters with practiced ease. Bewildered by their recent transposition to another realm of existence, the pair attempted to speak but found their words would make no purchase within the other’s ears as a vortex of furious natural energies whipped gale force winds beneath the brims of the pair’s 10-gallon hats. Looking to the center of this vortex, they saw that the entity before them had taken on a new and more familiar form. One of the entity’s arms now held a blade of expertly honed ironwood wrapped in thorned vines that tendriled their way along its body, whilst the other bore forth a set of scales imbalanced by a rotten, plagued, and roiling mass of blackened branch and bone alike.

“This world must return to balance,” came the voice of the supreme entity once more, distorted by the storm which raged around it. “My BURR OAK must be given reign to cleanse its lands of putrescence, to end the CRIMINAL ROMANCE which has brought such iniquity to this realm. Hear me now, for should you support its righteous crusade you shall be spared the indignity of being cleansed as a part of this decay.”

As termites through fallen wood, these words wriggled their way into the minds of Scruggs and Sonny Jim, drowning out the cacophonous sounds that had enveloped their eardrums in the presence of this fearsome foe. Wordlessly, the pair withdrew their aim from the entity, holstering their weapons and beginning to stride singlemindedly along a new path that now appeared before them as the glimmering light of a new dawn. Though they knew not how, the pair was certain that they would bring the BURR OAK into being once again, and in so doing enter into the creation of a new order balanced by the power of the natural world as embodied in its fearsome form."
BURR OAK debut CRIMINAL ROMANCE as the newest piece of the saga of their forthcoming album, delivering a cinematic slice of unrelenting Neurofunk that is set to convert even more of the EATBRAIN horde to the righteousness of their cause as the duo continues to reveal the prophetic implications of their chosen name in the leadup to their debut LP release.
