After a standout year, with performances at Glastonbury on the BBC Introducing stage, appearing on BBC News, doing a BBC Live Lounge Session & playing her first headline show; British Indian Independent rock artist Maya Lakhani released her atmospheric alt rock single, "Fall For Me," on Friday 2nd May 9AM to all streaming platforms.

“Fall For Me” is an anthemic alt rock love song. Written, recorded & produced by Maya, a skill she taught herself in lockdown 2020, it’s inspired by 00’s teen movie prom scenes.  A shoegaze inspired alternative love song about 2 people falling for each other simultaneously.  Maya performed it at her BBC Live Lounge session, creating a buzz & anticipation with listeners. The filmed session & official music video will also be released in May. The track has already had its' first radio play from Radio 1's Jodie Bryant, ahead of its' release, with Jodie saying "She's a real rock chick, carving her own niche, her own genre".  Melita Dennett also played it on BBC Introducing.

In her visuals for this track, Maya blends her heritage with her rock style, as a proud Indian woman she wants to be seen & heard in the rock scene. If you can see it, you can be it.  Maya has been booked to play the main stage at the Glasgow Mela & other live dates, where she will perform this track.

Born of a languishing Never the Bridle demo, this is a revamped version featuring chord changes and lyrics from the original demo, deconstructed and reimagined with a nod towards electro pop, dance music and a not-so-subtle tribute to the Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's".

A true story about Dennis Hope, the man who owns the moon and has made millions of dollars from selling extraterrestrial real estate. I was fascinated by the story and simply loved the creative and entrepreneurial nature of it.  It inspired me to write a song about his amazing story. The song also has an underlying positive narrative and message of "have hope" for listeners to hear Dennis' story and to be inspired for their ideas too, as by believing in your ideas, you too can reach the moon - you just need to "have hope". Dennis Hope has heard the track and LOVES it and is fully behind the song - he has also gifted me some land on the moon :) I had "hope" in my "idea" and I've "reached the moon" - job done !
