The very first song I ever wrote and recorded...

Although my earthly father wasn't able to be all that I needed him to be, even after his passing I was never fatherless. I miss my dad deeply but God has ALWAYS been there and had someone standing in the gap to lead, guide and protect me. I am grateful!! That's what this song is about.

Soulful and Life affirming Singer/songwriter Rose Hopkins aka Rozaya is part of the new wave of independent artists.  Rose grew up in the rural suburbs of Salisbury yet despite this setting her childhood was heavily engulfed with many world musical influences such as Lucky Dube, Marcia Griffiths, Baka Beyond, Bob Marley and many others, before discovering her own musical taste with artists such as Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Celine Dion.
 She also grew up as a regular festival and concert attendee which undoubtedly contributed to her burning desire to perform. Music has always been a big part of Roses life,  in her early years she was part of the school choir, then from that went to a musical theatre classes, followed by jazz vocal lessons, then popular music vocal lessons. She started writing songs at 10 years old and has just continued over the years.

 After taking a break she rekindled her passion for music and started connecting and working with different producers and artist from around the Bristol area. She has also worked as a backing vocalist for singer/songwriter Sofia May who has had number 1s in the US and done a track with Daddy Freddy who got the title of fastest rapper in Guinness book of records. She has also done session singing for various different bands headlining festivals in front of 5000 people including Beach life in Guernsey and Campfest in Wales.

In 2010 She then began her time ATM after a long musical break and formed her duo band ELEGANCE (check elegance on facebook) with Richard Price for their mutual love of soulful music, Elegance have performed at many venues in Bristol and throughout the southwest including 3 consecutive days at Bristol’s Colston Hall.

 Rozaya is currently working on new projects and has just returned from New York where she attended and performed at the indie soul mixer, as well as this she also did two radio interviews and has had her new single CHECKING ON YOU aired on radio both in the UK and US! Following this her song has now been chosen to go onto Fuzzy duck records Atom compilation CD!

Current musical influences include, Aretha Franklyn, Alicia Keys, Jill Scott, Adel.
