MK Skillz and Jim Bonds have teamed up to produce and perform live under the group name Sinister Sound Set.  In the upcoming year look out for a lot of new dance mixes, original tracks, and remixes with a funky, scratch laden feel to bang on your ear drums.

Founder of Sinister Sound Crew (1994) MK Skillz Began as a promoter of small one off parties before he started to DJ in 1996. MK Originally played jump up drum and bass, house, breaks, and hip hop. In 1999 MK came across the black starr album and became enthralled in the indy hip hop scene at that time and and began to play mainly indy hip hop. He was at the time a local D.C. record rep for Rawkus, Quannum, Land Speed, and Stones throw records. After various opening spots (Jeru The Damaja, Phife Dog from Tribe Called Quest, DAS EFX, The Clipse, Josh Martinez, Sleep, Awol one, Educated Consumers, Flex Mathews, Grayskul, Glue, Hanger 18, And Many others), And Various short tours , skillz decided to take a break from the road and playing out to pursue his painting and other life goals. In 2010 He teamed up with Jim Bonds to form Sinister Sound and returning to his dance music roots. Sinister Sound Set Has recently opened for various international indy dance acts (Penguin Prison , Party Supplies, The swiss, and maby others) 

The scratch happy turntablist www.soundcloud.com/jimbonds got his start in the late ‘90s spinning hip hop at local venues.  He went on to spin parties and open for live acts along the East Coast.  Most recently, Bonds has taken a hiatus from his Hip Hop roots to explore the dance scene.

Music can take you so many places. I once freestyled with C-Rayz Walz back in 2003 in a dark alley in Baltimore near the Ottobar. In September 2024, I performed at Sun & Bass alongside the DJ Strife at Ambra Day, San Teodoro, Sardinia - a global mecca of drum & bass. I’ve had the pleasure of emceeing and hosting for inimitable artists like LTJ Bukem, Goldie, Makoto, Zero T, Break, Calyx, Ray Keith, Nookie, Mampi Swift, Aphrodite, Klute, DJ SS, Fabio, Total Science, Audio, Teebee, Pola & Bryson, Flava D, Redeyes, S.P.Y, Ant TC1, Craze, Kasra, Mefjus, Halogenix, Bad Company UK, Digital, Matrix & Futurebound, Heist, Command Strange, Phibes, Spinscott, MC Fava, DJ Rap, Enei, Bladerunner, Robert Manos, Dieselboy, DJ Dara, AK1200, Drumsound & Bassline Smith, The Upbeats, Critical Impact, Sub Zero, Random Movement, Gremlinz, Rene LaVice, Prolix, Loadstar, Brookes Brothers, T.R.A.C, The Prototypes, Sinistarr, Quadrant, Taxman, Teddy Killerz, and so many more. I am a freestyle fanatic who is passionate about the art of emceeing, & all the subtleties and nuances that go along with it.   

I love the rush that accompanies the feeling of holding the mic, but having no idea of what I am going to say next.  When you are the conduit between the DJ and the crowd, the medium by which expression is felt and shared.  In those moments you are able to influence the crowd + what people may think or feel, the night, and the direction it will follow.  Ultimately, that memory will be yours to keep forever.  I have been freestyling, writing music, and emceeing for over 22 years now with no plans to change.  My goal is to share a piece of who I am every time I perform for those who listen.  I emcee simply because I love it.
