Another poem inspired by the title of a track by 9th Phoenix. Wrote this last year.

Crown, transparent, diamond hard and cold
As autumn fades away his spell unfolds

Hair, gray, as the ominous clouds looming in the distance 
None below offers resistance 

Eyes, blue, as the empty sky above 
This epoch his one and only love

Robe, silver, adorned with icicles, glistening
Diaphanous cape flowing in the winds that harbinger this christening

Ruling, scepter of ice in hand
At his will flakes fall upon the land 

Unleashing his power in a crystalline flurry from on high
Falling to the ground the tears he cries

Those of joy and those of pain
Crystallized by the frigid air they rain

Looking down over his kingdom
Frozen earth defines his season

Snow, colorless, so pure and chaste
Still, he knows his time must pass

This ephemeral nature his bane
This the curse of his reign

Though his domain will melt away
His throne will forever stay
