Waiting is an everyday experience. We wait for the bus, for the next vacation, for someone to call us back, and so on. Sometimes we look forward to the expected, sometimes we do not. Even though waiting itself is usually experienced as unpleasant, the different types of waiting are experienced in different ways. The only commonality seems to be the absence of the expected, and the expectation that it will be there at a certain point of time. A kind of transit zone between something that is no longer and something theat is not yet. Another characteristic is that at the moment of waiting, one no longer has any influence on the expected occurring more quickly, one is powerless.

How I Wait

Meaning. The relationship between two kinds of things: signs and what these signs want to describe. A system of order, of meaning-making. The meaning of a word, however, is flexible. The meaning of a sentence provides room for interpretation. This Loophole traverses the tension between the sense and nonsense of a word, sentence - language - pushing the boundaries of communication and beyond.

This work is an extension of the podcast »Lost in Transcription« and continues to explore the tension between meaning and nonsense of words, sentences, and language. »In Order to« seeks not only to explore the limits of communication, but also to create meaning (and maybe make some sense) in the process. It also attempts to poetically translate the utility and uselessness of order - its pleasure and burden - into sound.

Fragile Ecosystem is an exclusively acoustic exploration of the forest. The composition moves in the area between documentation and fiction. The scenario to be heard shows the already existing artificiality as well as the active intervention in the landscape and at the same time alludes to a speculative future. It presents the listener a walk through the forest that repeatedly eludes the familiar soundscape and sonically offers a new unknown environment.
