This was a mix I did for a Special Package for Japan a few years ago, someone asked if I would share it  more stripped down Vocal dub version in the John Morales M+M Style  :-)

For the debut release on my own new label IPSO with Kompakt Records, I wanted to try something different. The new label, IPSO is for me to invite a friend or a hero, - someone I admire musically to do a collaboration.
I’ve long been a fan of limiting myself in the studio. 
Sometimes working with less equipment brings out the best in you, so for the first release I figured it would be interesting to experiment with this. 
Inspired by the danish dogma films, I decided to make a rule. 
As I’m not one for overdoing things, the rule is very simple.
We are only allowed to use one instrument.
I reached out to my friend and all time hero Michael Mayer to do the first collab. 
Other than being co-founder of the mighty Kompakt records, and signing me in 2009, he is a genius in a dj Booth and a great producer. 
He has always been a great inspiration to me, so we agreed to start of my new Label with a bang. 
I set out the challenge, that Michael should choose the instrument. 
As I arrived in Cologne, Michael had chosen an old Yamaha Organ. Funny side note, is that it is actually Jörg Burgers organ. Jörg is actually quiet the legend himself, but that is another story. 
Michael and I spent 1 day in the studio, and we had a blast. 
The outcome is 2 great pieces of music that I'm very proud to share with you. RELEASE DIGITAL & VINYL - MAY 20

It’s difficult to describe the feeling when you know you’ve heard something that eclipses the mighty Mr Bird & Greg Blackman’s Ramrock Blue modern soul 12” classic ‘Over Again’ featuring the now legendary Tom Moulton remix. But many of you are going to experience that feeling and your feedback is going to reflect that moment when that single musical droplet of universal joyful harmony hits your hippocampus and you dissolve with happiness. 

There are three versions of ‘Where Did The Party Go’ -  on the A side is the funky Lo-Fi Classics original, taken from the album of the same name, produced & co-written by Steven Bird and delivered with gritty, Muscle Shoals confidence by Greg Blackman.  This version garnered mass plaudits from the soul cognoscenti – both DJs and radio presenters alike - on its first outing on the BBE label in July 2014.  Flipping the vinyl over, Ashley Beedle, Jo Wallace and Darren Morris deliver the two North Street remixes; the BPM has been dropped and as the 90’s RnB/steppers vibe kicks in, Mr Morris’s keyboards underpin the majesty of Greg Blackman’s vocal delivery – utterly sublime. No wonder Mi-Soul are already championing the ‘North Street’ Remix as their Record of The Week w/c March 13th 2017.  On the final version, Greg’s vocals are laid bare on The ‘Stripped Back’ remix - your soul will soar and you’ll remember the moment for a long time – savour it.

Our decorated BNE connection Flex Cop is up next in the elsewhere sound series, lending his floaty tech touch to the seventeenth edition. 

There's certainly no shortage of club action around the country for Flex, and atop a host of credible releases on Bunny Tiger, Onelove, Club Sweat and more, he also champions the Melbourne-based Thick As Thieves movement. 

Consistent in his club selections, it's a pleasure having Flex on regular Friday rotation, and we can't wait to have him back in the booth on the 29th of September with resident Audun.

A focus on ancient rhythms and tribal sounds with influences from the Middle East, Indian sub-continent, and South America. You will find vocals in Arabic, Spanish, and Indian languages. 

It doesn't stop at the slow ethnic sounds because the sets incorporate higher tempo deep tech tracks to mix up the fun :)

The on going and much loved Balearic Gabba Edits series continues in the capable hands of Enzo Elia once more. Here he serves up three new edits of classic house and techno form the late 80s and early 90s in his usual unique style. These tracks might be 20 years old. But edited as sympathetically as they have been, they’ve never sounded better.

The first track, Sueño Latino’s 1989 hit Luxuria is, in the hands of Elia, a slow burning journey through buried beats and glassy melodies that grow ever more prominent as the track continues. The whole thing is backlit with an ethereal synth glow until some classic sounding house percussion bubbles out and really gets things going. It’s hard to imagine a better way to start a set than with this.
