"In spite of everything" is an enchanting neoclassical work that subtly blends piano and strings, creating a deeply emotional atmosphere. The piano, both simple and complex, merges with the vibrations of violins and cellos, adding an intense and poignant dimension to each note. The composition invites the listener on an introspective journey, where each movement seems to capture the essence of reflection and emotion.

I started to compose music using an Ensoniq SQ1 workstation, a Fostex 4 tracks recorder, a cheap microphone and an effect box. By the time computers became powerful stand-alone recording work-stations, I decided to rely upon music software only, and their flexibility in terms of sound choice and mixing techniques helped my music to develop from simple synth-pop tunes to more elaborate compositions, spanning over a wide spectrum of the electronica sub genres. 
In June 2011 I released my first album, "The Observer", which can still be purchased directly from my website http://www.sir-joe.com 
September 2013 saw the release of "Universal Laws". Although not a concept album per se, "Universal Laws" is centered towards two main themes: regret or suffering caused by past experiences, and hope for the future via spiritual evolution. One method to achieve this evolution is revealed in the album's title track. The idea, in fact, is that when we know how the universal laws work, we can use them to our advantage and set our life in the direction we desire. The concept derives from the 'New Thought Movement", which was developed in the United States at the end of the 19th century, and is nowadays finding scientific endorsement via quantum physics experiments. Each song deals with one or sometimes both of the above illustrated themes, and since the music follows the mood of the lyrics, some songs are fast and aggressive, while others are more quiet and meditative.
The album has been received very well, and the opening track 'End of the line' has won a music award at The Akademia: http://www.theakademia.com/alternative_rock_best_song_october_2013_awards
