Unser erster Gast ist die Techno-Legende DJ Hell. Seit über 40 Jahren ist er am Nachtleben beteiligt und aus der internationalen Musik- und Techno-Szene nicht mehr wegzudenken. Begonnen hat Hell seine Karriere in seiner Heimat Altenmark als Punk- und New Wave-DJ, bevor er zur elektronischen Musik gefunden hat.

Dabei spielte, wie er im Podcast erzählt, auch sein Umzug in die Techno-Metropole Berlin eine wichtige Rolle. Anfang der 90er Jahre arbeitet Hell als Resident in Berlins bekanntesten Techno Clubs Tresor und Watergate und gründet sein renommiertes Plattenlabel International Deejay Gigolos. Außerdem produziert er Musik für Modenschauen und ist einer der Ersten, der elektronische Musik, nicht immer frei von Kritik, erfolgreich mit Mode und Kunst verbindet.

Im Interview mit Gesine Kühne spricht DJ Hell über seine Erlebnisse in 40 Jahren Nachtleben. Er erzählt von ersten Discotagen auf dem Land, wie es gerochen hat, wie damals gefeiert wurde und welche Rolle Sonnenstudios dabei gespielt haben.

The brand new Sisu Podcast Series: One For provides a soundtrack to your everyday experiences. These will feature carefully selected tracks, accompanied by stories, insights, brief anecdotes and plenty of captivating conversation. 

One For, will be hosted every two months by the charismatic Little Hats, a creative lead at Sisu HQ. Little Hats will be inviting a variety of guests to curate episodes based on their in-depth skills, knowledge, passion and understanding surrounding a particular topic. 

One For: A Cancelled Summer will accompany you as we come to the end of this odd summer. Our presenter Little Hats will transport you from the setting where you have spent so many days, to a more exotic space. Each song guides you to a different region of the globe and is thoroughly contextualised with historical insights. The voyage starts in South America, with some insights into Cumbia and Chica, moving further south to get a taste Bossa Nova and  Samba. From there we take a spin in southern europe, and finish our journeys with some gems from Africa and the French indies. Tune in for some soothing sounds, and insights into these unique musical genres.

Sisu is a community that gives a platform to women, trans women and non-binary DJs and producers. Through DJ courses, events, radio shows, an online mix series and workshops, Sisu aims to connect and nurture new and existing talent in the electronic music community. In One For: The Music Machines music researcher Airali dives into the world of AI-generated music, showcasing some of the most defining tracks that have been written and produced in collaboration with AI (Artificial Intelligence). Over the last few years, more and more artists have been embracing artificial intelligence as a source of inspiration and collaboration. We explore how these musicians are forging new sounds through a wealth of different techniques, unveiling some of the processes behind the creation of the tracks, with some technical details but mostly highlighting the role of the human creative mind working in harmony with new and unexplored technologies.

By nature experimental, the music played throughout the episode goes from poppy electronica to haunting, glitchy vocals and powerful choral hymns.
