The auspicious occasion of Guru Pournami will be celebrated at the Isha Yoga Center on July 14th 2011. The day of Guru Pournami is traditionally the time when seekers offer the Guru their gratitude and receive his blessings.

Sadhguru will offer a special Darshan on this day between 6:20PM to 6:40PM India time (1:50PM to 2:10PM London, 8:50AM to 9:10AM New York). You can make yourself receptive to the Presence and Grace by sitting in silence during this time wherever you may be. Guru Paduka Stotram can be chanted before and after this twenty-minute interval. When you grow out of your ignorance to discover not something external -when you discover something more essential - something more fundamental - when you discover yourself, how not to thank that being that helped you with this?
Not that it matters to them. But it matters to us that we thank Him - our Guru - the light of our path - the meaning to out lives.

Nada in Sanskrit means “sound” and Aradhana signifies “devotional offering”. Nada Aradhana is an intuitive synthesis of vocals and instruments performed twice daily in the Dhyanalinga at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore.

O seekers, this body is a splendid tanpura!

Pach tatwa ka banaa hai tambura 
Tara laga nau ture ka 
पांच तत्व का बना है तम्बूरा
तार लगा नौ तूरे का ||
This tanpura made of 5 elements, strung together with nine resonances.

Aenchata tara marodata khoonti
Nikasata raga hajure ka, ho sadho 
एंचत तार मरोड़त खूँटी
निकसत राग हजुरे का, हो साधो ||
Tighten the strings, twist the pegs, and it sings the song of the Lord. 

Toota tara bikhara gayi khoonti
Ho gaya dhoora madhure ka, ho sadho 
टूटा तार बिखर गई खूँटी
हो गया धूर मधुरे का, हो साधो ||
The strings snap, the pegs lie scattered, the sweetness has turned to dust. 

Ya dehi ka garaba na keeje

उड़ गया हंस तम्बूरे का ||
Don’t cling in vain to this body. Its swan has flown away.

“Vairagya” literally means “transparent.” Just as clear flowing water in the river acquires the color of the soil beneath, one who is transparent has no color of his own. Color is a product of the breaking up of light, the basis of our ability to see. Vairagya is an unbroken or “free-of-all-distortion” state that can light the world. It is only in a state of vairagya one can see as It Is. 

Essentially, vairagya means to be as the Creator intended – not bound to any particular aspect of life, the only bond with the Beyond, the source of Creation. Vairagya is the second album in Sounds of Isha’s “Mantra Series,” and consists of chants sung by Isha Brahmacharis.
