An absolute obsession with Words and Melody took hold of David at a very early age 
Exposed to the writings of Behan, Yeats and Wilde with the soundtrack of Dylan, Buckley and The Dubliners illuminating his formative year's. 
Inspired by the Storytelling and Character creations of his Grandfather he took the boat over the water and gathered Tales and Tunes of his own, learning his craft and expressing his love of Language.

Having been asked to play alongside the likes of Mick Flannery, Hothouse Flowers, Damien Dempsey and Glen Hansard David is fast becoming one of Ireland's most talked about young Artist's.

Bolshy are a riotous 7 piece pushing the boundaries of Ska Punk combining Klezmer/Afrobeat/Dub/Funk/Calypso who infuse their infectious music with messages of anti-capitalism and equality.

They kicked off their journey in summer 2012 busking religiously on the streets of Liverpool, then rushing off to play sweaty basements gigs. Since then they’ve taken the UK underground scene by storm sharing stages with the likes of The Restarts, Prince Fatty, Dirty Revolution, Radical Dance Faction and Culture Shock. They’ve brought the sun out at festivals alongside Neville Staples, Dreadzone and The Beat and performed at a 50,000 strong NHS rally in Whitworth Park, Manchester. Bolshy launched a crowdfunding campaign to release their debut EP which reached it’s £1500 target in 17 days. The “Radical. Anarchic. Bolshy. Scouse.” EP released June 2014 has been featured by Four Culture (USA), Bido Lito, Do the Dog Skazine and many more. Bolshy conquered their first UK Tour late summer 2014 with their eruptive live show and will continue to allure crowds into a world of foot stomping madness on their April 2015 UK Tour.

Through a patient clutch of singles, the raw and anthemic songcraft of Liverpool’s Cavalry has cut it’s own melancholy notch into the city’s vibrant, new music renaissance.

Their dramatic sound harnesses shades between The National and The Maccabees, with delicate texture and emotion pitted against wide-screen guitars and soaring vocals.

Emerging in 2015 with online singles ‘An Understanding’ and ‘Soak, early support from BBC Introducing carried them into the radar of Radio 1, Radio 2 and 6 Music, in addition to nods from The Guardian and Music Week.

In 2016 they cut their first official release: the AA-side single ‘Lucerne/Everything’ on revered indie imprint Fierce Panda (Coldplay, Keane, Death Cab For Cutie) as part of their annual singles club. Capturing the intimate/cinematic duality of the band’s songwriting, both tracks took in airplay on XFM, Amazing Radio, and the BBC – including a handpicked play of ‘Everything’ from Hollywood actress Chloe Grace Moretz on Huw Stephens’ Radio 1 show.

Led by pulsating online single ‘Heresy’, Cavalry have announced the release of their debut EP later this year.
