It was a cold night in fat camp, when Eugene spent 8 hours, duct taped to the girls' toilet. He promised himself he won't allow others to treat him like scum anymore. He went on a low-carb diet, hired a personal trainer, had his myopia lasered and decided to become a rock star. Then internet happened to him and he went back to being extremely obese, moved back to his mom's basement and got addicted to MMORPGs. One day he got kidnapped by a religious nutjob and force fed to death. When investigating the crime scene, the police found a mysterious USB stick with a couple of tracks on it...

Carl Cox label Intec starts 2017 with new look artwork and a hefty release from Stephan Hinz. 2017 is set to be a big one for the Techno focused Intec and with Stephan Hinz coming fresh from a release on Pan-Pots label Second State, he was the perfect choice to kick start the year. 

Having also collaborated with Pan-Pot on a track called Tension, Stephan has a proven musical pedigree backed up by his back catalogue of labels, which includes releases on Nicole Moudabers Mood Records and Adam Beyers Drumcode. Returning to Intec for his second sole EP on Carl Cox's much famed imprint, Stephan has a background in making music for film and this love for cinematics can be heard in his dramatic production style. Whether it's an explosive and concise live performance, or a vibrant DJ set Stephan Hinz is a master at the controls, and his ever evolving production style fuses a variety of influences. 

The release opens with the mechanical rhythms of Off Numbers which has a menacing sense of intent, offset by dark undertones to create a nervous tension and spark frenzied excitement. Brought to life by the rising tones of the grinding bassline and the looped melody, the hard hitting drums make this Techno monster perfect for dark rooms and sweaty dancefloors. Track two titled Shaded is all about the bassline which bellows out from the bottom end to engulf the track in its devastating forward momentum. Patient and purposeful, the structure unfolds with the help of shuffling percussion that clacks and clatters like chains striking concrete, whilst the sinister melody part creates an unsettling sense of exhilaration.

Marc Vedo starts off his year on Great Stuff with an incredible and brand new three-track EP entitled “Get On Up”. The talented house DJ/ Producer from Bristol is world renowned for his seamless mixing and high level productions. In 2016 he hit 25 Beatport Top 100 singles, several Top 100 tracks on Traxsource and his first N1 in the UK upfront club charts!

Mark lays down and array of chunky, bass heavy house beats alongside big builds and pounding snares! “Get On” Up perfectly combines classic elements with cutting edge sounds & effects. This is most definitely prime time material!

Next up is the driving but sleek “The Muzik” composition. A precise kick drum and tribal percussions build the foundation for a fun dancefloor excursion. Bells and energetic pads float atop while the epic break downs do their magic.

Last but least we have ‘Invasion’. Arpeggiated moog-ish sounds morph themselves around a marching mono-synth bassline in support of the engaging and trippy groove. Added otherworldly vocal effects and enormous, deep chords make this a late night gem.

Mladen Tomic shakes things up once again with this two-tracker, unveiling the quirkiest, most infectious grooves around.
"Into The Game" focuses on a smooth-ass groove, while samples of all sorts are interspersed with ease throughout the whole affair. As usual, clever programming and sweet edits are the name of the game.
"My Therapy" combines some darker samples with off-kilter sounds, while keeping the percussion on the forefront. Building steadily with class, the therapy is about to begin.

Former Minus mathmaster / current Items & Things mogul Marc Houle teams
with Laure Bobin and Aymeric Mansoux to form Raid Over Moscow, leaving the line between post-nu-cold-minimal-synth-wave and vintage electroclash thoroughly straddled. Their pitch-perfect blend of computerman rhythms, hot accents and nation-shattering hooks could easily be a product of 1981, 2001, or 2021, so we'd like to think we're ahead of the curve here (yet again). Turbo is banking pretty heavily on a full-on electroclash revival, instructing our core artists to focus on songs about 1) smoking 2) how amazing / terrible fashion is and 3) sunglasses, and unusual times to wear them.

Olivier is no stranger to the perfect groove and here he delivers another lesson with the title track's evil bass doing all the talking, while indecipherable spoken word snippets and what can only be described as James Brown on crack go head to head with busy snares.
The rocksteady groove keeps going on "Malmy" with crackling percussion and and persistent hats doing their thing.
