The next EP in Blueprint’s 25th birthday series sees another collaboration for label head, James Ruskin. Following EPs alongside both Truncate and Mark Broom, this time Ruskin teams up with DVS1 for "Chapter One".

Back in 2016 the label was celebrating its 20th anniversary and the release of the “Structures and Solutions” compilation which featured their track, “Page 1”.  As one of the highlights of the compilation, it received multiple plays on BBC Radio 1 and a place in Resident Advisor’s Top 50 Most Charted tracks during its month of release.

Taking the hugely atmospheric “Page 1” as their starting point, they continue with 3 more fully immersive techno “pages” to create this full EP.  

The EP closes with “Page 4”, a track that continues the huge atmosphere with a driving kick and hypnotic arpeggiated synth that ebbs and flows to take you on the techno journey you would expect from the two artists.

Sunlit skies shine brilliantly in the portal before you in an enchanting azure blue while the rays of light that cascade invisibly through them reflect from the organic curves that define a city of gleaming steel. Interwoven amidst its swooping structures stand fantastical examples of local flora, contrasting their metallic neighbors with varied viridian hues. Crowning some of these grand greenways are vibrant flowers, bursts of fuchsia, tangerine, and indigo that further accentuate the city’s naturalistic grandeur.   Indeed, so interwoven are the buildings of this great metropolis with the bindings of nature that it is difficult to discern one from another, each as interpenetrating in its essence as the waters of two rivers at a confluence. It is as though each sprung up from the other, or that those who dwell within have achieved a mastery of the twin disciplines of technological and natural understanding that few can claim to even partially possess.
