Continuum: a coherent whole characterised as a collection, sequence, or progression of values or elements varying by minute degrees.

The timing couldn't be more appropriate to share this special recording. Just coming back from spending some magical days with JJ, in the place where I first met him and where I first heard him play. Full circle moment. 

JJ is the amazing human behind Rebloom, a party and mix series from London, that brings something very much needed in the city. A space of community around deep, mental and psychedelic sounds. I lived in London for 10 years and I wish there had been a Rebloom then!  As a DJ, JJ blew my mind since that first time at Springkell. His selections are psychedelic but emotional, and his mixing style is fast and technical. A great combination of taste and skill, with musical choices that really resonate with what I personally like. 

But what a gift he had for us... A recording of his closing set of the last Rebloom party in London, playing after masters Anthony Linell,  Atomic Moog and Caroune. I can only imagine how special this moment must have been, and getting to share it with all of you is a true privilege. A masterclass of modern psychedelic techno with a dose of dub sounds to top it off. What a mix! Thank you JJ. 

But as often with The Continuum series, it is all about the person, and the connection through music. JJ is a music lover with a huge heart that brings joy to any event he visits, and it is always great news to find out he is joining whatever party you got tickets to. A fun loving person that brings light and laughs to any gathering.

The Continuum: JJ

‘Tweak All the Knobs at Once’ is an uncompromising Techno/Trance tunnel, whose psychedelic dimension is revealed in the Nervasystem remix.
AH CAMA-SPIES is the musical synergy of two accomplished and respected producers who have known each other since the 90s: Ah Cama-Sotz and Holeg Spies. Ah Cama-Sotz, aka Herman Klapholz, is a prominent figure in the Belgian industrial and dark ambient scene, having explored the ritualistic dimension of electronic, industrial and techno music for decades. Holeg Spies, an award winning film score producer, presents here one of his multifaceted personas, always seeking to reveal the organic dimension of synthetic music.
Nervasystem was formed in the mid-90's. Drezz from Bristol UK, releases very individual & trippy psychedelic trance, more hedonistic & experimental than the usual psychedelic trance of the time. Some of his releases are considered all time classics of the psytrance music scene.

Dive into the rabbit hole there is light at the bottom

Dragonfly Records emerges from the cocoon and spreads its wings to fly again.
After a 15 years hibernation since the last release, finally the much anticipated re-launch has arrived and with it comes an exciting new installment of the seminal Order Odonata compilation series.  Next up is a full artist album from label head YOUTH, coming spring 2020.

Dragonfly Records was founded by Martin 'Youth' Glover in 1993 and was based at his Butterfly Studios in Brixton, London and was a seminal label in the Electronic trance music lineage and arguably the first UK / European Goa Trance label.

In early days pretty much all the main trance producers were working out of Butterly/Dragonfly. TIP, Flying Rhino, Total Eclipse and Hallucinogen, (Simon Posford and Ott were part of Butterfly’s in house engineer/production team). Early releases also included Goa produced music like Mandragora and Space Tribe. 

At the same time Butterfly was hosting The Orb, Laurent Garnier and The Drum club and many other artists were rubbing shoulders with our own artists, producers and engineers, as well as putting on multi-media parties and events.

Art exhibitions with Jimmy Cauty (KLF), theatrical productions, talks in the garden with such psychedelic luminaries as Terrance McKenna, Fraser Clarke, Brian Barritt and Lee Harris as well as some legendary huge outdoor raves, all of which combined to create an Arts Lab and a creative utopian hub unlike anything London has seen since the early days of Punk or even the late 60’s Summer Of Love.   

Today all of this legacy has magically alchemised into “Space Mountain” the state of the art studio built by Youth in Andalusia, Spain at the end of the 90’s and which now hosts The Space Mountain International Cosmic Arts Lab festival.
