06 Horizon Lines

This is the track I made for the Super VG Christmas Party album project, that was released mid-December 2014, which brings you 42 tracks of winter themes from video games, arranged by +100 artists. And this one is based on Ice Man's from Mega Man on NES, a classic.

It's another of those video game themes that I love so much that I just could not live with my 2004 version and wanted to redo at some point. It's perhaps the first theme I heard in a game that made me keep trying even after losing dozens of extra lives.

The weird title comes from the silly idea that Ice Man would look quite great painted in red, with a beard and pulled by mecha-reindeers in the night sky... huh.

This track is mainly a cover more than a remix as I wanted to stay true to the original.  I did add my own chord progression and a few arpeggios as well as a new breakdown, but for the most part the focus was sound design and trying to nail the feel of the original.

Brought back an old song for Return to Aloha! The album's coming along at a glacial pace due to a bazillion other things dominating my life at the moment (chiefly things to do with the upcoming novel release!) I hope this song (and this adorable drawing of Capel by Renz!) will bring you some joy in the meantime. 
I think the song sounds very much like a busy place, so I figured "Workzone" would be a pretty good title for it. Also one of the few times I've gotten to do major key in the Capel albums!

Hey whoasers, this one is a couple months old and I put off releasing it until but here it is!!! I like the original versions of the song, both on the Genesis and the X68K, but I'm not too fond of the way Wolfteam did their synth design on either system. Their Genesis stuff was hollow and flat, while their X68K stuff, while fuller, was gritty, tinny and pretty thin sounding with little to no bass. So I decided to mix the best of both worlds and give the song the mix and instrumentation it deserves.

Based off of the X68K original version of the song.
